I ordered this giant duck thinking it would just be a cute extra plush for the granddaughters’ room… but apparently this duck has decided it lives here now and is part of the family. The minute I pulled it out of the bag, my 3-year-old granddaughter gasped like she had just discovered a rare magical creature. She ran over yelling, “HE’S SO CHUNKY!” — which, honestly, is the perfect description. He’s round, fluffy, and shaped exactly like the kind of duck that would waddle up asking for snacks. My 1-year-old granddaughter immediately tackled him with the world’s tiniest hug and then tried to sit on him like he was her personal duck throne. He handled it like a champ. This thing is sturdy. The plush is incredibly soft — like marshmallow-soft — and the stuffing is super squishy without feeling lumpy. It has that perfect “flop” factor where you can smush it, hug it, or use it as a pillow and it bounces right back into shape. The stitching is great too; no loose seams, no wonky eyes, nothing crooked. The duck’s expression is what really gets me. It’s this slightly smug, slightly clueless little face that just radiates “I am adorable and you cannot deny it.” I swear it makes me laugh every time I walk by. He now rides in the stroller, gets tucked into beds, and has been served fake toddler meals at the toy kitchen more times than I can count. The girls insist his name is “Chunky-Duck,” and honestly… it fits. If you want a plush that’s funny, soft, huggable, and big enough to make kids go “WOW!” when they see it, this one is perfect. I got this as a gift for an expectant mother, and she was quite excited. She thought it was absolutely adorable. The duck came in a plastic bag that was not vacuum sealed. It was a bit flat, but I shaped it a bit, and it became rounder. It will sit on its own, but the head is a bit floppy. It's very soft, and the size would make for a good lounge pillow or something to snuggle. I just don't feel that this is a $50 plushie. I got this plush today and while it arrived vacuum sealed and deflated (for space), it didn't take long before it was in the shape it is in my photos. It's pretty much the same as the product image, although the fur may not be quite as tight and short on the real item. You can look at my pictures and decide. It looks a bit darker in real life than on my monitor, too, but that could just be my monitor. The plush sits up on its own and is very soft. After squeezing, it goes back to shape and is filled pretty well. The beak and feet are filled almost to capacity to keep their shape and firmness, but do have enough give to be soft. I took a picture of the bird with a bottle of vitamins to let you compare the sizes. It is a nice big size for a child and my daughter likes it. At the current price point of fifty dollars, it's up to you whether you think it's worth it or not. I haven't had a need to try washing it and I didn't get instructions and there is no tag, so I wouldn't do more than wipe it with a wet rag if needed. But, it is a decent plush bird. Read more

This plushie is big, round, and so silly. It really made me laugh when I saw it. It looked a little misshapen due to the vacuum sealed plastic, but after squeezing to redistribute the stuffing, it fluffed up pretty well. The design is adorable. The feet and beak are made of felt, which isn’t soft like the body but works well for contrast and structure. I like the design of the feet, they give a bird claw look and hold their shape well. The beak is a bit floppy, I might open the seam and add more stuffing to make it firmer. It’s a great huggable size, perfect as an accent pillow or plush to display on a couch or chair.
