This thing has turned my brick of a mattress into a comfy plush bed. To be fair, I also have a down alternative topper on top of it. I had just the down alternative topper which wasn't enough, still felt like sleep on a brick, but the combo is so comfy. It did make my bed warmer I noticed. It tends to hold heat, so just be aware of that. I am not sure how it could compare to a non cooling gel foam, but it still gets warm. It comes vaccuum sealed, very stiff and flat. I was a little worried it wasn't gonna puff back up all the way, but it did within a few hours. It fit's my bed perfectly and my sheets still fit over it. I ordered this twice because I loved the first one so much that I wanted more squishyness. The first one was awesome and the second one was different. Not bad but not as good. Im including a photo of the difference. The second one I got was like bigger air bubbles and kind of static sounding when you rub your hand on it, the first was so soft and so perfect but i just put the 2nd one under the first one and we'll see how it goes. How do you squeeze a couple (or a few) more year's worth of wear out of a tired recliner or couch? This is my go-to fix to make these creature comforts cozy again. Once I've measured and snipped (using utility shears), I take the time to make an encasement for them using old bedsheets or pillowcases. This usually requires no more than ten minutes, even with finishing it off by running a long simple stitch to enclose it inside (to prolong it's "life"). Usually all my furniture has slipcovers anyway and these additions aren't out where they're visible. But the difference is certainly noticeable when in use, and that's speaks of good quality. Used this to create "deep couch city" for movie night on a double chaise lounge. We only needed enough for the seat (not the ottomans), but should enough to cover the seat and back be desired (of a loveseat) then move up a size and get either the double or a queen.
