I tried the standard memory foam first (ViscoSoft 3 Inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper), but it had a horrible chemical smell to it. This latex product only has a mild latex rubber odor that took about a month to air out before first use. After that no noticeable smell. Very comfortable. The 3 inch is much better than the old 2 inch. If you are bothered by the chemical off gassing stench of just about everything that comes out of China, then this is the latex foam you want. Had to replace a slab of soft talalay the was getting too soft in the middle. Bought soft Dunlop...hope it lasts longer. Was much cheaper than from where I bought my bed. Cut it with an electric knife on the bed. As a note...most sellers seem to warrant latex based upon the amount of measurable sag. I have found that it doesn't sag much but rather get softer and then sags under weight. Once weight is off it springs back to original dimensions. So much for the warranty. Read more

I purchased this soft latex topper to help alleviate pressure points, as I am a side sleeper. I must say that it doesn't hold heat like memory foam and bounces back very well. I just wish it was a bit softer. To me, this topper feels more like medium, not soft. Sometimes my arms lose circulation depending on how I lay, which wakes me up at night. This topper is fairly expensive, so do your research before you buy it. Read more

My husband and I have totally different preferences for mattress firmness. We have a California king memory foam and he's been sleeping in the recliner. We decided to give this a try and LOVED it! His side is a 3" firm, twin XL and my side is a 3" soft, twin XL. They fit together and on the bed perfectly. I can't feel the separation between the two and they stay on well with a topper cover that has grips plus the weight of the topper itself. Best investment for couples with different preferences. I love this topper. However, as it is the soft one I have concern about it holding up very long. As experienced in the past with mattresses that were soft (not medium or hard} they have not held up even when warranted. My topper already has a little sag to it. This being said, I'd buy it again.
