After 30 minutes of use the brush motor failed. This was our 3rd Dyson. Our first gave us exceptional service so when the brush motor failed after 10 years we bought another. Our second Dyson lasted 2.5 years and again, the brush motor failed. That was a disappointment but the appliance really did a great job of cleaning so we bought (this) our third. See story above. Thank You AMAZON for customer support and also the 3rd party from whom we bought that appliance. The story doesn't end here however. We bought ANOTHER identical appliance from COSTCO because we believed we experienced a fluke with #3. So, #4 started out working well and then the brush motor died after only vacuuming the down stairs carpet. I'm in disbelief with this but COSTCO, like AMAZON provided exceptional customer support and accepted the return. I will miss the service of our first Dyson but at this point we are ready to move to another brand. Read more

this is the worst & most expensive vacuum I have ever owned. I should have stuck to my $129 Hoover from Walmart. This POS kept shutting off the brush, jammed numerous times, heavy to pull around, "telescopic" handle would not stay & i had to keep jerking at it to extend, canister is too small as i had to get a kitchen utensil to jet the dog hair out completely. ZERO Stars all the way around. unless you have no dogs, 1 type of rug or flooring, no stairs , houseplant leaves , then this is the vacuum for you...... Read more

Received a used vacuum and the spinner stopped working just after a month. I have been unable to have the issue resolved by Dyson customer service, and was unable to return as it was after a month had passed. Read more

When I first received it it worked, towards the end of vacuuming I needed to reset the brush bar motor. Now the brush bar motor stops fairly quickly. I called Dyson customer service and they sent me a new brush unit. The new unit failed even faster. I called customer service again and they said the vacuum wasn't compatible with my carpet , and since it was beyond the 30 day return window they wouldn't allow me to return it, or exchange it. My carpet is a normal high end carpet, nothing unusual. Dyson has a design defect that only allows it to work on certain carpets. They know about this design defect , yet they refuse to address the problem me. Apparently they have no remedy. Needless to say this vacuum is the last Dyson product I will ever purchase. Read more

Broke 11 months after light use. On phone with Cust Service 90 minutes ('warranty' = you repair whilst Agent reads script). Took to local repair shop and I paid cost. Broke again 18 months later. Animal dragged out to curb on trash day 3 years after purchase. Read more
