Yes I have a good corded vacuum that really sucks, but I have to use an extension cord to get around the house and it isn't very nimble. I also have a cheap cordless that had pretty good reviews, and that is okay for surface debris but it isn't very strong, especially the carpet brush, which slows down. But this V15 pulled so much dirt out of the carpet I had to empty it quite a few times while I vacuumed the Entire House, including under the couch, bed, tables, places the big corded vacuum won't go...it is very nimble. Fortunately it empties easily, I just emptied it outside on the grass (well country living has benefits). Otherwise I think I would cut a piece of cardboard to put over a waste basket, cut a hole in it, and empty it that way to avoid dust. I had to use the second battery only half way through this process. I have a mix of carpet and ceramic tile floors, and the Auto Suck feature adjusts between them, not bogging down on the carpet or wasting too much energy on the smooth floor. It is manually adjustable if you don't like Auto Suck. I bought a 3rd party flexible hose (6') to clean difficult places easier. I used the short power bar thing on the car seats and carpet which worked well. Pricey unit, and I put it off a long time, but I rather like it. Note: The V15 Pro model Doesn't have the laser in front like the V15 cheaper one, so no light at all... Too many models and features to keep track of. Read more

This vacuum is amazing! I have the V15 detect pro. The suction is so strong that I use it on the middle setting for my area rugs. They are old family oriental rugs and thinner than new area rugs. So I just use it on the medium setting otherwise they just pull the area rugs up from the floor. When my grandchildren come over they want to vacuum! That is worth the price of the vacuum! I have an older V8 and I have them use that. I bought the newer V15 to see if it had even more suction. I tried it and WOW! I have a Taiwaneese rug that is very thick with a ton of knots per square inch. It works wonder on the rug! The only thing that will ruin that rug is if dust and diet get farther down into the rug. I vacuumed it with the V8 and then with the V15. Lots more dust and dirt came out with the V15. What a machine! I recommend it. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I am so sorry I purchased the V15. The video shows how it handles on a very low pile carpet. The cleaner head freezes up and you cannot push or pull it. It does not matter which mode it is (eco, auto or boost) or if in the -, + or neutral setting. I called Dyson and they “claimed” it was a faulty cleaner head and sent me another. The video is of the newly sent head. I had a V11 for a long time that worked on hardwood, tile and low pile carpet like it should. When I needed a new one I thought I would upgrade to their new model. My V11 finally had the trigger malfunction which is a known problem that Dyson refuses to acknowledge. Since my V11 trigger lasted about 5-6 yrs I thought okay I’ll buy a new one. My suggestion is don’t upgrade to the V15. I wish I would have done more research on the V15. The freezing of the head seems to be real problem for most owners. However in my honest opinion it’s not the cleaner head it’s the motor. It is just too powerful to the point it becomes non functioning in the average household. As if having a pricey non functioning vacuum isn’t enough the other issue I have was I was on the Dyson store on Amazon when I purchased it and when I went to return it the site told me there would be a re-stocking fee of like 5%! (TMI) In the middle of this whole trying to get the vacuum to function (and waiting on a new clean head that was on back order) I ended up having some medical issues that landed me in hospital twice and now I have missed the return window. My suggestion do some real research on the V15 before you purchase it. There are videos and chat groups all over the internet about this issue. If I had done this I never would have upgraded to the V15. Read more

The top of the vacuum head is heavy. It makes the head hard to swivel at some angles. In fact, at many angles the head does not swivel easily. But for the amount of money we have spent in the last year buying other vacuums, we should have stayed with what we knew worked. This vacuum picks up dirt, dust, fine hairs from my head, etc. It should have come with the lock to make the vacuum stay on while using it. Amazingly you can order that part separately. Quiet. you can hear suction power change as needed. It doesn't have a light on the brush head. 2 batteries! 2 chargers! Read more

quite some suction compared to the v8 I have. Also it came with 2 batteries which is a plus. It has an adaptive suction based on the surface you're working on, extra nice feature. Read more

So this is the second one of these vacuums I bought. My original one was a V 11. I’d only given my original vacuum three stars. Primarily because after a few years, it started to have issues. However, I think many of the issues were from buying perhaps subpar replacement filters. As long as I bought well reviewed replacement filters. The vacuum worked as expected. You also can’t beat the convenience of this. I’m a super busy mom. I don’t have time to deal with cords. I just want to zip around my house with a vacuum and do a quick cleanup. This vacuum really allows me to do that. While I could probably get a deeper clean with a plug-in vacuum, this thing still does an amazing job. Read more
