I tried to use this using the magnetic case for my phone. Didn't work. I then attached the metal ring it comes with and man-o-man!!!! They aren't kidding when they say it holds 5 lbs. It's a VERY strong hold. I highly recommend this product. Read more

The magnet on this mount is seriously strong. My phone stays put even on bumpy roads, which is exactly what I needed. The rotation is smooth, and the rubber grip adds a nice layer of protection. Just a heads-up! It works best if your phone case is MagSafe-compatible or thin. I had to ditch my thick case for it to hold properly. Overall, it’s a solid mount and does its job well. Read more

I did some research before getting this to see if it was compatible with my phone (Samsung Galaxy s25) without adding a metal ring mount on the back, and from all of the information that I could find, I would need a mount or a case for it to work with my phone. I had a spare adhesive metal ring, so I decided that I would be fine with using that rather than the current mount that I use for my phone in my car, which is just two rubber feet that clamp the sides. However, once I got this magnetic mount, I went and replaced the mount in my car and put my phone on it, and it stuck just fine! I think that my phone is very weakly magnetic, but the mount also has a fairly high-friction rubber surface, and my phone slides down to the point where the protruding cameras catch on the edge of the mount and it holds very, very well. It has a solid lb or so of resistance from trying to pull it off the mount, and it stayed sturdy while I was trying it out. I think that there could be a case where I hit a pothole really fast or perhaps if I brake as hard as I can, but I don't know the last time that I've done either of those things so I'm happy with it. I'll note that I mentioned that I have a spare metal ring, but it also comes with one which is great, because it means that just about anything can be mounted to this if you're okay with adhering the metal ring to the back. You could also put the ring on the inside of a phone case if you don't want to see/feel it. It doesn't come with a mounting arm, but it uses a standard mount for attaching to most mounting arms that you'll come across. I've used 4 different mounts in my car, and they all have the same exact mounting mechanism as this, so I would be surprised if this didn't fit whatever it is that you already have, or anything that you want to buy to use with it. This thing has got a strong magnet! I love that it holds my phone with its Magsafe case and it doesnt budge. Its not bulky at all and can also be used on other bases if you already have a base glued to your dashboard. Read more
I really like that this is just the mount with a 17mm attachment. The focus on this product was strength to hold the phone and then you can use whatever 17mm mount you find works for you. This is awesome. I have tried to use other brands that incorporate their own ball mount and they all sag in the heat and the crack because you have to keep on tightening them. This one the focus is on this specific piece and it shows. The magnet is vert strong and the 17mm part is precision. It snuggly mounts onto any 17mm tech mount and tightens up great.
