Before ordering this trimmer, I used surgical scissors to carefully trim my nose hairs and over time learned to do it quickly and without bloodshed. Still, I was sticking razor sharp, pointed objects uncomfortably close to my brain. This trimmer is completely safe and having used it for a while now, I've only had one instance where I felt a pull on a hair and braced for impact. Even then it didn't hurt, just felt like it could have. So their claim of painless holds true for now. I also like how it's not electric so it doesn't need to be charged or plugged in. You just hold it between your fingers--held in place nicely due to the indentations in the side of the device--and repeatedly push the button in on the bottom. It spins the blades inside, so you also never really have to worry about it wearing out. It's heavy and solidly built, and comes with a cleaning brush, screw-on cap for the top, and a card of instructions. Very compact and much smaller in real life than the product pictures suggest, which is a good thing in my opinion. You can tell when it's working because if it hasn't found a hair to cut the rotating mechanism spins freely and quietly. When it cuts a hair, there's a moment's hesitation as you push the button in and then you can sense (but not feel) the cut. My only negative comment--and it's not much--is that I appear to be trading speed for safety. There's essentially no way I could hurt myself with this trimmer, but it takes significantly longer to finish the job than when I used scissors. Probably a worthwhile trade in the long run, so I'm not taking anything away from my rating. Very satisfied. Read more

On the one hand, it's a bit fiddly to get the offending hairs into the slots where they will be cut, but, on the other, it's a way to get them cut reasonably safely. You fiddle around with positioning and press the button to trim things. It can take a few tries to get hairs where they need to be to cut, but grabbing skin seems like it would take intentional effort. The thing is quite loud for ear hairs. It really isn't worse than a normal pair of scissors, mind, but right there in your ear, that's not quiet. (I intend to try lubricating it with some mineral oil) It's a manual device, so you don't need to worry about charge or cables, which is nice. (I previously had an electric version and it was worse in every way: painfully loud, bulky, needed batteries...) It doesn't appear to be especially prone to rust, anywhere, so cleaning is a relatively simple matter of rinsing it and, possibly, soaking it in hot water. If you would like a way to trim your own ear hairs safely, especially in a way that can get tossed into a suitcase, dopp kit, or purse, this is the best choice I've seen. Read more

The media could not be loaded. This portable nose and ear hair trimmer is compact, stainless steel and requires no battery or charging. It does have some weight to it but feels smooth and pretty easy to hold. The cap screws off and you push the other end to rotate the blades. I wouldn't say its completely noise free, it does make a sound when your pushing down that button over and over. It seems to work a bit better if you go faster and more consistent. Sometimes it can be hard to grab the hairs you want and get that right angle. It's very hard to cut skin with the design of the blade mechanism inside. The snap pouch and brush is nice to have and travel with. This isn't my husbands go to trimmer all the time, more when he wants to do it quick and keep up maintenance. Read more

So simple, but really effective. I actually liked it better than my electric one. Good products don’t always need to be really complicated Read more

Based solely off of the picture, if someone had suggested to me that I buy this device, I would probably laugh, but as it stands, this device was sent to me for free to review. I did not expect much at all from this trimmer and was frankly surprised when I used it—it actually worked. The idea of a non electric powered nose trimmer just sounds like a stupid idea, but I found out that they work really well. Upon opening my package, I was greeted with a premium looking box. Inside the box was a neatly laid out leather case and a tiny brush to clean the trimmers out. Both were secured in foam cutouts. I appreciated that the look and feel of the display was a premium one—I don't usually go for that sort of thing. The trimmers themselves are precision machined. There are no tooling marks on the trimmers and the satin finish looks nice. The device almost looks like it shouldn't work but surprisingly it works quite well. These actually trim better than my nose trimmer attachment on my beard grooming kit, which is surprising. I don't know how long they will cut this well, but I am going to use them until they dull. Even if I had electric nose trimmers worked this well, I would use these if I was traveling, camping, etc. Aside from the great look, these nose hair trimmers actually work extremely well. Read more

About the only good thing I have to say about this product is that it looks impressive, made out of shiny metal and comes in a nifty pouch so you can take it with you. First, I find it's hard to operate. It's difficult for me to position the cutter and push the plunger to cut hairs with any precision. Even going over the same area, it leaves a lot more behind than my old electric model. Second, trimming my nose hair isn't something I do on the go, like commuting to work or in my office. It's a once in a while thing that is best done in the bathroom at home. And why invest in such a rugged tool, because it's no good once the blade wears out and I didn't see that it was replaceable. Definitely an impulse buy on my part. Read more
