I suffer from ear wax accumulation, which gets so bad at times that I literally cannot hear out of my clogged ear(s). I have been to the ENT for a clogged ear power wash in the past and then decided to do it myself. I have used the DeBrox ear cleansing kit with drops and a bulb syringe and often have to repeat the process several times to clear the clog. I sometimes use a 50/50 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water to do the same and again have to rinse and repeat several times. I have searched diligently for an effective ear cleansing tool and decided to order this ear cleaner kit product with a USB charger, light, and disposable tips. And, it comes with a little towel! I didn't necessarily like the idea that the unit was chargeable but I find that it holds a charge a long time so I do not have to keep plugging it in to recharge. The plastic fill bottle on the bottom, when full, is not heavy at all and is surprisingly easy to handle while power spraying in the ear. It took me a little while to figure out how to work this tool fluently; you just set the power level you desire and hit the button and the solution sprays into the ear. Just hit the button again to stop it. I found when I use this unit that way way way more wax particles come out of my ears at once compared to the manual DeBrox or hydrogen peroxide method using the handheld bulb syringe, which sometimes takes hours and several repeats to accomplish the task of removing compacted ear wax. This nifty unit is a real time saver and gets that wax out in a way way way more timely and efficient manner. I absolutely love it! Admittedly, I didn't expect much from it at first and thought it might be a possible return after testing it out, but boy was I wrong! I love it and will never return it! I sterilize the tip after each use so I don't waste it and go through too many replacements. I also like the splash guard on it, which works great, and the basin is designed just right to catch the waste. It’s also easy to clean the whole unit when finished with it, just use lots of warm water to rinse it off and set it on paper towels to dry. As a long-time hearing aid wearer with earwax issues, I've used different wax-softening drops over the years. The biggest problem with those is the flushing with warm water following the treatment. It's a messy business. This "Earigator" makes that flushing easy. I've found using it is a lot less messy than a bulb syringe, and have found that the included water bottle is a perfect size to take care of both ears. Also, by using the "Earigator" twice weekly, I've found that I can keep my ears clear enough that I can skip the eardrops. This device isn't a miracle worker. It can't clear blocked ears on its own. The instruction sheet that comes with it says, "It is recommended to soften heavy or hard earwax before irriigation." Still, this device is helpful with the "heavy" treatments, makes them a lot less unpleasant, and is great for routine maintenance. I intend to keep using it. Read more
