I do like these pads. Whether ,my chicken like them is still a mystery. They are still laying but they have took some of the pads and pulled it in their house. It is drug all over their hen house. I like the cleanliness of wood, than the plastic we were using. I have only been using them for 2 weeks, so we shall see how they do over a 6 mths period. Read more

Ok, so I'm still fairly new to chickens. My girls have been laying since late August. I do have a large rollout nestbox but not everyone likes to lay in it. So I added a few milk crates in the coop and I purchased these nest pads to place in the bottom of the crates. When I first took one out of the box, it seemed a bit flat but the fibers seemed to be soft and looked comfy. Well, let me tell you. The ladies love these! They can scratch around, fluff and shape them to their heart's content. After several days I can simply remove the soiled top layer of fibers (my youngest ladies sometimes wanna sleep in the boxes at night and of course...poop lol) and there is still plenty of padding left for them. Mixed feelings about this product. They look great when I opened the box, but when I pulled my first one out it basically fell apart on the bottom, the paper backing came off. I thought I could still use it but it wouldn’t fit in my nest box, I tried to trim it and it wouldn’t budge. It does seem soft but very delicate.
