I am so glad I bought these for myself. I love hiking and my last pair of boots just plum wore out. Because, well, hiking. Anyway, I love the color the little purple splash lets me remember I am a girl even though I love to do boy things. Because, well, boys... Good fit based on Amazon's recommendation to me from my previous shoe orders. I used to wear a 10, but my feet are flat and have spread so an 11 was perfect. These provided the comfort and ankle support needed for my trail hike at Murchison Falls in Uganda last summer. They are pretty cute and kept my feet dry as well in muddy areas with puddles. These hiking boots look great, but they are incredibly uncomfortable. I keep hoping they will break in and not cause blisters on my heels. I have changed socks, put inserts in, and bandages on my heels, to no avail. I recently ordered heel guards, hoping they will help. (The heel guards have not arrived yet.) I have purchased other hiking boots and never needed to "break them in." Although cute, I will not purchase Eddie Bauer hiking boots again. Update: the heel guards arrived. They are very comfortable, but did nothing to help change my opinion of the boots. I still ended up getting blisters on the sides of my feet. It's time to let them go. I wanted to like these so much more than I did! The look of it is beautiful, the structure of them seems really durable, but my feet absolutely kill me every time I wear them. I’m on my feet most of the day, tons of steps in and these are definitely not the type of working/hiking boots that work for my feet. These shoes have been fantastic! They're light but sturdy and have helped to avoid many rolled ankles. I've worn them for over 40 miles of hiking and they have caused no foot or knee pain. I will definitely be buying these again once they wear out. The waterproofing isn't perfect, but I just added some cheap waterproof spray and it has worked wonders. Read more
