This actually performs exactly as advertised! It's very sharp and CUTS through your nail cleanly. At first, I was confused as to how to use it because there is only one metal blade. I couldn't figure out how that could cut anything. But after looking at the instructions, and trying it, it does an amazing job! It's ergonomic and well designed so it's easy to hold and use. It's made extremely well and I've used it a lot these last few month. I appreciate the storage case it comes in. The case protects the blade and makes it easier to find in a drawer. I've even started using it to trim my cats nails since it does such a great job of cutting them easily. (and I can sanitize it afterwards.) It also works on thicker toenails. I'm tempted to get a second one because it works so well even though I don't really need another one. Oh, and you don't have to use a lot of pressure to cut the nail. Just gently pressing down on the top works. So, you don't need a lot of finger strength to use this (this is important for older people). I'm highly impressed and don't ever want to use a 'standard' fingernail cutter again. Read more

There are a fair number of reviews who seem to have had bad luck with these...many claiming that it's a gimmick and that it straight up doesn't work. But I've been looking for a better option for nail clippers, and these caught my eye...and I have to admit, "Made in the USA" was a huge draw for me. After using these, I have no idea how people are having issues with them. They are simple to use, they do an excellent job cutting nails, and they're very, very effective. So, I want to address some of the common complaints and give my input. Others' complaints: - "They're hard to use." - No, they simply aren't. There are instructions printed right on the packaging. It explicitly tells you exactly how to use them. If you're picking them up and trying to use them the same way you'd use standard nail clippers, they won't work. But if you ever learned how to read, you'll be able to use these easily. - "They cut my nails to short." - Well, they won't if you follow the instructions and use a bit of common sense...and, you know, maybe look at where the blade is on your nail before you cut it. - "They don't catch my nails." - They do for me...not 100%, but probably 90%. And the ones that aren't caught drop right where I cut them rather than flying off into the ether. - "They flatten my nails." - FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! - "They're too bulky." - I mean, they are bulkier than standard clippers, but I don't really get the complaint. Then again, I don't tend to carry nail clippers in my pocket with me, so the larger size doesn't really bother me considering they stay in the bathroom when not in use. If you like to carry clippers with you, I would consider them too large to carry in your pocket or a small purse. Or, you could just clip your nails at home like a human. - "They're too expensive." - They do cost more than standard clippers. But I don't know if I just lucked out or what, but Amazon showed me the price BEFORE I bought them. Look, I'm not saying that these are for everyone...I'm sure there are people with strange/unique nails that these don't work great for, because, as with any product, these are made for "most" people. If you have unusually thick nails or unusually shaped nails, these might not be the best thing for you, though I still think most people could find a way to make them work. But for most people, these should be an improvement from normal clippers. They are GREAT for trimming children's nails, as they're much more gentle than standard clippers and you can get a better grip on them. Again, I just don't get the complaints. I find these much nicer to use than standard clippers and they do a much better job. Read more

Literally the best nail clippers I've ever used. It seems stupid, but they just work super well and are a quality of life improvement that I didn't know I needed. They are sharp, cut smoothly, catch most of the clippings (not all!), and store securely in their case. Wouldn't recommend for travel as they are fairly bulky, but I like them so much I am probably going to get another pair for my toiletry bag anyway. Don't think I can go back to the "standard" double blade clippers. Read more

Mixed. Downside: it is hard to get into tight spots like you big toes, and toes in general. Positive: As advertised. It cuts smooth, no snags. I am old and you start getting these like fiberous nails under your toe nails. I wondered how it would cut thick material like that. It does fine. We will see how long it stays sharp. If I get a year out of it, that will be an excellent value. It is a different experience. The bottom plastic edge is pretty thick so you can't get in as close. For fingers it is perfect. So you understand, these are not clippers, they cut. They cut by putting your nail on a plastic support piece and the blade slicing off the nail infront of the plastic support piece. I hope that makes sense. The blade doesn't hit anything except the nail. I am pleased and will buy more of these. As long as you understand the above limitations these are highly recommended by me. Good value. Read more
