There is a large ~1” cotton end. Use this on the external ear but do not insert deeply into the canal. That’s a sure-fire way to cause pain or possible damage. The size of the cotton is really too big for a lap dog. If you need, you can soak the cotton in some ear cleaning solution to remove hard substances. If ears are already painful, do not fight to get things clean. It probably took many days to get to that state and will take an equal number of days and/cleaning to fix the condition. Do not leave the ears wet either as this can create unsavory conditions for yeast to grow. When in doubt, contact your vet for cleaning tips. Read more
