While my day job has me sitting behind a desk for half the day, I’m normally a very active person. I even have a treadmill under my desk, which raises to standing height, so I can walk and work at the same time. However, a few days before the new year, I stumbled over my dog on the stairs and suffered a severe ankle sprain. The doggo is fine, I sacrificed myself to save him from injury. So walking is currently off limits for me, so I've had to resort to alternative (sitting aerobics) to deal with my activity level needs. These are perfect! The weight is the perfect weight for use while sitting and working. And the size is just right to be able to leave them on my desk without them getting in the way of work when im not using them. In fact, the size is so perfect that after I've been cleared from PT and am able to walk correctly again, I will find a way to attach one to each of my shoes while walking on the treadmill to give the leg and foot muscles some extra love. They also have a sort of grippy rubbery like covering that makes them easy to handle and hold onto. For now, they are being used as intended, upper body workouts from my chair, and they are perfect for it. These dumbbells are great for lifting, doing strength and cardio exercises, and working out at home. They're a decent size, and they have a great grip, which is fantastic. I'm not a huge fan of the shape, though. I didn't realize I would miss the wide ends, but these just don't feel 'right' to me. I'm using them, trying to get used to them, and I wish I could figure out why I don't like the shape, but ultimately, I just really don't like not having the wider ends. Read more

These are pretty straightforward dumbbell bars. They don’t have the clunky ends on them that typical dumbbells do. I suppose that could be an advantage or disadvantage depending on your needs. It doesn’t matter to me. This new form gives me choices and options for adding weight to walks, treadmill, etc. Build quality is fine. The outer covering is a rough silicone (apparently, per the ad) material that provides a good grip. The coating is consistent over the entire outside of the bars I got. There are some wavy curves in the middle of the bar that also help with grip. The bars are kind of thick so don’t expect to get your hand completely around them unless you have really big hands. In summary, these are pretty typical dumbbells of a fixed weight. They have a coating on the surface that provides a good grip. Good product. Read more

These weights are really 'beefy' and somehow 'feel' like they weigh more... They're very ergonomic and feel nice in the hand. My 6'3" 250lb+ hubs tried them out as well and noted the same things. Im a size S in gloves and he is a XXL and these weights feel great in both of our hands. They have a wave grooved imprint that my fingers fit in very nicely and makes sure they don't slip out of sweaty palms. I absolutely love these dumbbell weight bars. The 3.3 lb size is perfect for walking, light strength training, yoga, and Pilates. They add just the right amount of resistance without straining my wrists or shoulders.
