My first electric razor was a foil shaver and I decided to get another one 4 decades later. The reason is because they give a closer shave than other electric razors, as they leave very little stubble. Keep in mind that this is not a trimmer, even though it's small enough to be used for some trimming needs. It's small enough to fit into a pocket and light enough to use with your fingertips. I no longer shave my head, but I would have loved this razor when I did. I don't know if the metallic casing is actually metal, but it does use magnetism to keep the cover on snug. It has a 900mAh lithium battery and allegedly can be used for 2 hours before needing a recharge. I fully charged it up before using, and shaving off my stubble used 10% of the battery, although I'll likely use less than that on a daily basis. It's recharged using a standard USB-A to USB-C cable, which is exactly what I prefer (modern USB connectivity, so no propietary chargers or stands needed). I keep a standard wall charger in my bathroom and I don't like when I have to unplug it to charge something that won't work with it. Charging it from empty to full is only supposed to take 1.5 hours to complete. The LED display shows the charge level and so you'll always be aware of how much you have remaining. It comes with a simple to understand instruction manual and a brush for cleaning it out between shaves, which is a simple task and important for keeping foil shavers running well, in my experience. It also has a safety lock feature for the switch, that requires you to hold it for 3s to turn it on and this prevents it from turning on when traveling, etc. I do want to point out that while it claims to be waterproof, both in the manual and the description here, and even instructs that you may clean it under a faucet, the manual also warns you not to do that. I don't know why it does that, but I suspect it will be fine. I don't plan on getting mine wet, anyway, so I don't really care either way, but I think the manual could use some clarity here. I'll end by saying that I love this shaver! It's small, light, shaves very well (including tight spots like under the nose), shouldn't need recharging often and will be great for traveling. Foil shavers generally are only for getting rid of stubble, but I don't always shave everyday and so I'm curious how it will do with longer hair (they usually don't do well with beards as long as the one shown in the product picture). The mesh head aluminum covers have a tendency to tear with foil shavers, but Pritech has a website that sells replacement parts. The price is so low for the shaver that I might would just buy a new one, however. This was my first experience with a Pritech product, and while I can't speak about longevity, I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for other Pritech products in the future. Edit: I am pleasantly surprised by how well it handles 3-day growth. There were areas that I had to go over multiple times to get everything, but I still think it was faster than using any of my other razors. I don't think it would handle 4-day growth well and so 3-day growth is about the limit. Read more
