Well designed, nice to use

Metamereβ€”September 11, 2024βœ“ Verified purchase

It assembled easily, and holds my AKG microphone with shock mount very securely. It has a great and easy range of motion, and the extension piece allows it to reach over my monitor. It's a huge improvement over my desktop mic-stand with a weighted base. That thing wasn't nearly as stable and secure as this one is, though the extension and overall length does make it a bit more wobbly, though it will never tip over like the other, so that's fine. It's also much more compact and tucked out of the way when not in use. It was easy to route the cable internally and it looks really nice with it all tucked away now. One con is that it doesn't have a good place to clamp my pop filter to the arm. It works well enough without one, but i may need to get something to adapt it or maybe just get a foam cover. It's a good enough value normally, but an excellent value when on sale. Read more

Stop looking, just get this

Peter Q.β€”July 13, 2025βœ“ Verified purchase

Okay I've gone through 2 different microphone arms this one being my third and let me tell you from experience. Just start with this one. I've used a $20 exposed spring arm and it was not only horrifyingly dangerous, but also just not particularly maneuverable. I spent $40 and got a much nicer one, but it didn't quite reach as far as I wanted and it barely supported my Shure MV7 and not to mention, I had to crank up the tension on each pivot point with the wrench. This one though.....it's just magic. First of all, the extended pole that comes with it, lets the arm sit at an angle where the mic can come down at a more comfortable angle and is out of the way. It's also spring powered, but it's so smooth. The arm is super easy to adjust, no bolts to tighten aside from the first mounting point. This is more than strong enough for my MV7 and it comes with a counterweight if you're using a super light microphone too. The build quality is great, The shell is plastic, but a matte thicker plastic, the arm itself is metal, but the best thing about this is that it's just easy to adjust, it actually holds it's position well, and I can move the microphone out of the way when not in use without worrying if the tension is messed up. A solid and well priced mic arm.

Steven Molinaβ€”November 30, 2022βœ“ Verified purchase

The only reference that I had before was a cheap boom arm that was able to manage my Rode Procaster. It was ok but not as solid and fluid as this Elgato mic arm. Just out of the box you feel it was made with quality materials, no loosen parts, well packaged, attencion on details... The cable management space is smart, put the cable on it is really easy. For reference, I use my Rode Procaster (around 745g) with the counterweight included but you can used without it, the arm stays in place. The ballhead is actually very useful for fine-tuning the mic position. With a little tightening the mic stays in position and the mechanism feels sturdy. I put it just behind of my 27 inch monitor and is not necessary to put the extension tube to rise the boom arm over the screen, it saves my space and keep my line of sight free and a little more clean, I can almost hide the mic and arm behind the monitor when I'm not using it. There is no noise of springs or metal parts when a move the arm, it is very quiet. I think you need to hit the arm with a reasonable force o move it quiet hard to listen some noise or vibration transmited through the arm. I don't know if you can obtain same quality for less money, or if paying more gives you a better boom arm, the only I can say is this mic arm offers great quality for what I consider a fair price. It's not the best but its nearly Perfect.

Matthewβ€”June 18, 2025βœ“ Verified purchase

It's very durable, it's only been out of the box for 2 days and so far, I've banged it a couple times on accident but it's fine. it's holding up, there's no defects and everything is good. It's able to hold up my Heavy USB Blue Yeti Microphone and it does not fall, the high-quality locking mechanism, (locks it into place). The springs in this thing are heavy duty and you need to apply some force if you want to adjust it, I personally love that feature, but some people may not like that. It comes with an extension rode you attach to the base of the arm, so you get roughly 8 inches of optional height. The entire base of the arm is made of high-quality metal, and the clamp is probably the best clamp I've ever seen for a boom arm. I was reading a couple bad reviews from this product, saying 'it came broken'. Thats likely just a defect, I'd return it, then order a new one. It's a high-quality boom arm, for $100 this is worth it if you're looking for something that's going to last. I'm giving 4 stars because It's not the best boom arm but its nearly perfect. Read more

Solid professional mic arm

Darren F.β€”January 1, 2026βœ“ Verified purchase

I use this in my office, where I am constantly on conference calls so prefer a "real" microphone. It's definitely an upgrade from the thinner, more flimsy affairs with the external springs. It looks nicer, has a nice weight to it. Easy to move around. I don't foresee needing to upgrade this guy. Read more

Don't Waste Your Money on RODE Boom ARMS! Get THESE!

Kate Carisβ€”August 11, 2025βœ“ Verified purchase

Okay, so I went back and forth on getting the RODE PSA 1+ boom arm for so long for our podcast and am so glad I got this instead. I have two right now and will be buying a third for our guests. These are SO sturdy, can be moved without needing to tighten, really solid all around. Clamp is great and they hold my RODE PodMics perfectly. I didn't need the counter weight it came with even for those heavy mics. I will say, they don't sound dampen well because they are a hollow frame so just keep that in mind. Install them in a spot where you won't bump them during recording because they definitely produce a sound and prolonged frequency if that happens on sensitive mics. I can't believe these were under $100 because they feel so expensive and look amazing. LOVE! Read more
