Wife wanted me to pick perfumes for her for Christmas. It was between this one and another from Miu Miu or something like that. In store it was hard to tell because of overlapping smells but once we left I kept smelling this one on her vs the other one and wished we had bought it then. Luckily I was able to order it before Christmas anyway and I'm so glad I did. As a guy I'm not much into perfumes so I don't know anything about quality or not, but I can say that it smells amazing and lasts a long time vs some of her other perfumes that you get nose blind to or evaporates quickly. I had seen people rave about this perfume on social media so I decided to order it without ever smelling it. At first , it smelled like sour milk to me but after about 10 minutes on my skin , it smells amazing! Kind of like a deep vanilla, spicy smell. Do NOT order this. It smells like a bad lamp oil or a cheap cooking oil. It’s truly terrible. I couldn’t get the smell or stain out of the clothes I wore when I tested it. I ordered this in the sample/travel size before the full as I wanted to make sure this was a suitable replacement to my signature replacement. I don't smell the scents or layers I'm supposed to at all - it smells like alcohol (rubbing, not liquor) and laudanum and florals. There's no gourmand hint to it. As another reviewer said for a different scent this one also "gives an 'aged' smell" and I agree that it'd be rare for someone under 50 would want to wear this. The smell is intense, long lasting, and gave me a headache. Only heavy florals and laudanum based scents give me headaches - definitely not a sultry gourmand. I'm also wondering if this is a fake.
