These are fantastic. They replaced 4 remotes we used to turn on Christmas lights around the house and timers that worked sometimes. No monthly subscriptions or hubs. Connects easily to our WiFi and Google Home. We set the on/off schedule for each socket that works perfectly and can just tell Google to turn them on and off with a “Hey Google….” When we want them on at other times. The Emporia app is a free download on iPhone/iPad, also available on Alexa and Android. Plus, the app will give you details on how much power each socket consumes while active. Winners!!! Read more

Transitioning from another app based smart plug that didn't support the app after Threads integration. Already using Emporia for our EV charger, so using the app was not a downside. Google Home integration was a plus, disappointed that it didn't extend to Apple Home. App design is elegantly simple and easily does what is expected in terms of setting schedules and ad hoc control of the on-off switch. Being able to see power consumption is a game changer over the previous smart plug. Expanded smart plug use to our freezers for this very purpose since it also allows you to know if/when the freezer powers off. Overall, a very well done and useful device. Read more

They worked great, and the app is good. It was a little tricky to get them to connect to the wi-fi. You have to make sure you are connecting to a 2.4 g. And even then on one of the four I had to connect to its internal Wi-Fi directly because it wouldn't detect but after that it worked fine. Read more

I’ve been using the Emporia Vue to monitor my home’s energy usage, and it’s been amazing to track almost my entire house. Recently, I added some external off-grid solar installations and wanted a way to sync that usage with my Vue. These Emporia smart plugs were exactly what I was looking for. Integration: They work seamlessly with the Vue app, so I can combine the data and get a clear picture of my real savings from both grid-tied and off-grid solar. Smart features: The plugs can be controlled through the app or Alexa, which adds a lot of flexibility. Accuracy: They provide reliable usage readings, helping me fine-tune my setup. The only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review is that they’re currently limited to 10A continuous load. For many household devices this is fine, but having a 15A continuous version would make these much more versatile, especially for higher-draw appliances. Overall, I highly recommend these plugs if you already have an Emporia Vue and want to expand your monitoring and control. Just hoping Emporia releases a 15A model soon! Read more

Purchased this to help monitor my energy usage. Also needed to pinpoint the usage of my security system to size an appropriate Battery Back Up UPS. Super convenient and easy to set up. Make sure your broadband is dual band and broadcasting on 2.4 ghz. This does not work on 5 ghz. App is smooth and easy to use. Name and group your plugs. Track usage in realy time, by the hour, day, week or month. These have a high amp rating and can handle just about anything you want to put into it. Likely not suitable for power tools, hvac or other large appliances. A TV or small mini fridge should be OK. Don't forget to check out their whole home and circut breaker monitoring system. Read more

Setup was easy-ish. Remote on/off through app (and works with Google) is awesome and, in case the wifi is out, the physical button on the side will turn on/off. Energy monitoring is great and incorporates into my Emporia app and nests wherever is needed (Living Room/Office/Bedroom circuits as desired). If you already have something like the Vue3, these are an excellent addition. I have 2 fans that I now remotely operate, as well as a wax warmer (cuz why not?) and a pellet stove that I can now monitor for efficiency. Read more

These can be a little finicky to connect to your the tracking app, but once connected, they allow you track usage and turn off things plugged into them. You can schedule them to turn items on and off at specific times. Items like TVs & computers draw electricity even when “off”. Read more
