LONG LASTING! Over 5 Years and Counting

Value HunterApril 27, 2023

PROS/What I Like: 1. VERY long lasting. I have over 5 years of use and going strong! Company claims 10 year life span up to 70% charge 2. Maintains great charge 3. Environmentally friendly by reducing toxic waste vs disposable single use batteries 4. Convenient. Don't need to go to the store to buy batteries all the time. Just switch them out with your extra batteries and charge them up! 5. Out of box factory SOLAR POWERED pre-charged for instant use 6. Maintains up to 85% of charge after 1 year when not in use 7. Pro version is higher capacity and power @ 950mAH vs standard version @ 750mAH 8. High capacity up to 500 charges! 9. Extreme temperature rated down to -4 deg F. 10. Made in Japan who continues to design and manufacture high quality products CONS and Other Considerations 1. Not really a con but more of a consideration, the charge time is 4 hours for the black pro battery and 2 hours for the white or green standard version. This hasn't been an issue for me because I always keep extra charged batteries available. I got tired of buying bulk batteries from Amazon or Costco only to have them die and then run to the store when one of my devices needed a fresh set of batteries. Not only that but I felt bad throwing them away because I knew you are supposed to dispose of them properly since they are considered toxic waste. So about five years ago I bought the green and white batteries you see in the picture. We have used them for everything from flashlights, remote controls, cameras, wireless keyboards, wireless mouse, LED candles, Xbox and PlayStation remote controls, electronic bathroom scales, and basically everything that needs a battery. I am still using the original batteries from over five years ago but decided to purchase more due to the needs of batteries in my kids remote controls and our household items. I upgraded my Eneloop to the Pro version and still love them! They hold a longer charge and provide more power so I can use them for a very long time before needing to replace them. This is great for the environment and also more efficient to not always have to go out and buy batteries if I need one. I just charge them up and they are ready to go for a long time. I HIGHLY recommend these to anyone needing a longer term battery solution. Read more

These Batteries are Magic

Dylan HApril 17, 2025

I’ve been using the AA Eneloops in a cellular trail camera all winter long, outdoors, with average temperatures around 20°F and frequent drops to 0°F. The camera app shows battery status, and after more than 6 months of use, they’re still holding close to 50% charge — on a single charge! No other AA battery even comes close. I used to replace disposables every 6 weeks in this same setup, so these last at least several times longer than even the high-end throwaway brands. And again, I haven’t recharged them once yet. They’ve already paid for themselves in the money I’ve saved not buying disposables — and the best part is, I can keep recharging them many times over. I've also had trouble with disposables in the cold — below 25°F they’d often just die completely until it warmed up again. But these Eneloops don’t seem to care about the cold at all. They’ve handled 0°F with no issue. I’ve already bought more and plan to keep buying them. I can’t recommend them enough. If you’re on the fence — don’t think twice. These batteries are the real deal. Excellent Traditional Rechargeable Batteries

These have decent capacity and seem to be made very well. I like that they hold their charge when not in use. Read more

They're decent enough

KeithNovember 26, 2024

They last long. My remote has a very bad parasitic battery drain issue that I'm too lazy to investigate, so these do the job. Some times they're finicky as far as charging, but they work I'd say 95% of the time. Read more

Low internal resistance and at just over $3 per AAA cell this is a good deal.

Daniel P ZiembaDecember 3, 2023

31JUL25 Low internal resistance is very important as it represents an electrical loss that wastes power heating up the battery. It's especially prevalent in high drain applications like headlamps running at full output. I purchased another 16 AAA Eneloop Pro (the price was slightly lower :-] ) and, right out of the box, every cell measured less than 25mΩ internal resistance. WOW! I don't yet understand the improvement. I'm in the process off topping of the cells, then I'll check them again at full charge. The 'topoff' was about 500mAh, just like the previous batch. After charging, and waiting a day, the internal resistance increased slightly, getting as high as 28mΩ. BTW - My original Eneloop Pros have deteriorated since 2DEC23. I'm getting resistances around 230mΩ now (not horrible). 2DEC23 I've used regular (non-Pro) Eneloop cells for many years and I'm very happy with the results. As these batteries age two things happen, their capacity (mAh) decreases and their internal resistance increases. My most common use for AAAs is in a headlamp. After about 6 years use, I find the internal resistance increasing to unacceptable levels. I use an Opus BT-C3400 charger/analyzer to measure all this stuff. Starting out at, if I remember correctly, something less than 200mΩ I find that many of these original Eneloops are sitting around 2Ω now i.e., they're wearing out and need replacement. BTW - They're still plenty good for lower current applications. I purchased the Pro version in hopes that the internal resistance will remain low over a longer period. We'll see. The originals are rated 'up to' 2100 cycles while these are only rated for 500 albeit at a higher capacity. It's still more $/mAh, but it's worth it if the battery internal resistance stays low. As I said: We'll see. I checked the resistance of all 16 cells and came up with about 100mΩ each, which is good. The cells I received were somewhat discharged requiring >500mAh charge each. 22-05LQ was stamped on each cell. I assume that means May 2022, so they're about 1.5 years old. OK, that may explain the good price. Read more
