Because a child swallowed a hearing aid battery, a law( Reese's Law) was passed requiring that the hearing aid be removed from the package only with scissors. Older people with arthritis who can't use scissors are out of luck. I am one of the ones with arthritis. For a brief time, the old-style packaging is available. Of course, at a higher price. I am hoping my supply of batteries will last till I have to replace my hearing aids. At that time, I will be going with rechargeable. I have read that the new rechargeables will last longer. I never use them because they would not last as long as I need the hearing to last. Twelve hours was the max. There is no way for me to tell until I spend the money for a new set of Widex hearing aids. Read more

I have always used energizer because they last 2 days longer (6 days) than all the others I have tried. . The new packaging method is mandated but it is almost impossible to get them open . Most are used by senior citizens and my husband has to cut mine out for me. Please try to improve the packaging. I am considering getting rechargeable aids so I don't have to go through the torture of simply opening a package! Read more

OMG! Don’t get these! It takes half an hour just to get thru the packaging to the batteries! Awful, awful packaging, worse than kid toys because it’s such a small thing to hold to try and cut open Do Not recommend only because of packaging battiers last a week if you can get to them without cutting yourself!
