I'm very happy and pleasantly surprised with my new IQ Powerpack solar generator. I reviewed many generator designs and I ended up purchasing this Powerpack 1500 and solar panels. It has a number of design features that were critical to my applications including a complete complement of outputs. It hits the sweet spot between portability and emergency home backup. I'm an engineer so I'm real picky about design. My primary use is camping or overlanding with secondary use for home emergency backup. It has been flawless thus far. As I operate this outside most of the time, the additional UL certifications were important to me. All the connections are protected from moisture, dirt and dust by these slick silicon or rubberized flaps The input and output ports are on opposite sides of the unit which makes for ideal cable management. The handle design is perfect for carrying and yet out of the way...no handles sticking out to get in the way and it feels solid. It packs well too. I've got limited space in my truck and the smooth outer shell of the generator makes packing and transport easy. It sets up fast and easy to use. I like that the end connection panels and display are set back slightly from the face of the unit which allows the generator to be flush with any flat surface without touching the ports...another packing advantage. I get plenty of sun and I can charge the generator to 100% in less than a day if I'm persistent with the solar panel positioning. Finally, my home solar uses Enphase inverter technology so I have the additional confidence knowing this generator probably has the most reliable inverters in the market. Read more

Setup was a breeze. It charged promptly after it was unboxed. The Enlighten app supports our rooftop solar and the IQ PowerPack 1500 so performance can be monitored in one place. The IQ PowerPack is easily transportable and will provide support for critical appliances if we experience power outages. I am very pleased. Read more

Enphase makes great products for solar systems. I use their inverters on my house. When this product showed up I knew it was the solution for replacing my portable gas generator. I have not been disappointed. Currently I use the grid to recharge it, takes a little over an hour if really depleted, but plan to get the solar panel option soon. Works great with the Enphase app to monitor load and remaining charge. And quiet, not a peep! I will be using it to power the fan on my gas fired furnace and also the refrigerator. No more going out in the cold and firing up the old generator. Thanks, Enphase, for making the perfect portable power system. Read more

So far so good. Power went out for 3 hours and it seamlessly switched to battery mode to keep the refrigerator running. The app enabled me to see that from afar. Wish the app had notified me that it had activated battery mode bit that is a relatively minor issue. Solidly built and Enphase is a reputable company. Have not yet tried charging with Goal Zero solar panels but may try that next weekend. Read more

This amazing unit will power a refrigerator for several hours. It has a beautiful, clear and vivid display to show the charge level and time remaining for usage. It was also very reasonably priced, compared to other battery ac generators. Of course, it is a little heavy, not too bad though, and it has comfortable carrying handles. I love that, in an emergency, I can just carry it to my refrigerator to keep my food cold. It also uses the latest battery technology (lithium/iron/phosphate), so it should last a long time. So far this had been a great addition. The directions were simple and clear, the the connections were pretty much idiot proof (thanks for that). I used the two solar panels to do the initial charge, it took about three hours on a partly cloudy day. The panels took little bit of an effort to setup, the support legs were a bit of a challenge for one person but would be no issue for two. I use it for a laptop with dual monitors and and Internet router, we already had a power issue and it switched over from street to battery automatically. It was a short outage so I didn't get to see how long I'd get out of it but so far it is doing what I need. Only two suggestions I can make is, if you are using the solar panels make sure you have enough space to set them up a clear view of the sun (duh) and don't lose the plastic tool to disconnect the connectors (another duh)...
