Great Hardware Design and Function

PaulSeptember 15, 2025

Fantastic keyboard for those (like myself) who're getting into the keyboard game... I've had mechanical keyboards (in school during the 90's) but always thought they were older tech and relics of the past and felt that modern keyboards must be superior, despite not "feeling" as good to the touch... In the one week I've had this Epomaker EA75, I've upped my typing speed by over 25% and plan to be at a 100 WPM with 99% accuracy in a couple months. The following is for those considering or cross-shopping the Aula x Epomaker F75 with this EA75, here are some things to consider as there are subtle but noteworthy differences in these two units; I had the F75 but swapped it for this EA75 and am quite pleased: - Keyboard lettering - The lettering/numbering marks on the EA75 is slightly larger and more legible thank those on the F75 in normal lighting conditions, especially a bright room. - Backlight: With the backlight on, the EA75 keys will be less distinguishable and legible in a dark room at any comprable setting to the F75 - Keyboard sound: The EA75 seems oh so slightly quieter (and possibly less thunky) than the F75; this is a very subtle difference and may not be perceptable to most. - Knob: the EA75 knob is less wiggly and feels more sturdy when operating; it's also slightly smaller in overall hight and diameter (talking one millimeter or so) and sits more flush to the keyboard surface... and it has a more pronounced sound (and feel) when rotated and overall feels more satisfying and higher grade. - Profile / size: The EA75 is slightly shorter in profile and slightly lighter than the F75 - Design: the switch for the connection (BT, Wired, 2.4) is on the right side of the EA75 and more accessible casually than the F75 which is in the back. - The dongle sits flush and sits in the back of the keyboard without protrusion; the F75 has a dongle that juts out a couple of milimeters which affects your setup if you're pushing the keyboard against a laptop edge or something else. - Software: The software version available from the US-facing website on the EA75 is a bit more enhanced (although far from modern) and less buggy (although it is buggy).j - Keyboard Key Layout: The EA75 has a key layout that is noticably easier for general navigation (from web browsing to spreadsheets) without glancing at the buttons as the usefull Page Down and Page Up buttons are closest to the arrow keys; on the F75 the End button is nearest to the Up-arrrow key and I found myself mistakenly (and repeatedly) hitting it and then having to scroll back to where I intended... this is a small thing but can get very annoying. Overall, the EA75 (and the F75) with which I have experience are fantastic pieces of hardware that are limited by the software if you're into mapping custom keys or messing around with additional not-out-of-the-box RGB settings... if you're okay with the dozen or so pre-configured colors and the multiple settings for their adjustment, you'll love these keyboards... if you've used VIA and plan to tweak settings all the time, you may need to look to other offerings by Epomaker/Aula or others. Great keeb but it’s no F75

Mr.MJune 4, 2025

When I saw this pop up on Amazon I immediately knew I had to have it. Be prepared for a deep review by an enthusiast who knows their stuff. Firstly the build quality is much stiffer than the F series and I am unsure why that is. That being said it, it is noticeably lighter than the F75 and I love the blacked out knob. The PC mounting plate is very stiff but I like that very much as it is more resonant with clackier switches, if your going for a thock or creamy profile best of luck because the sound dampening is less effective than the F75. Now the downsides are the fact that the LEDS are significantly dimmer than the F75 and the color ways Epomaker seems to go with are very blah and use the white LEDs which are VERY discolored and have a pink hue. In fact, all of the lighting is dim aside from the tiny indicator light on the front panel which is also RGB and that’s a nice touch but not a saving throw. I tried switches with magnifying light diffusers and that did not help the brightness so personally, I do not recommend shine through keycaps. I got some Womier double shots in black and purple and they are pretty good and also match the theme very well. The other downsides include the cheaply made dongle which is unbranded as opposed to the rest of the Aula x Epomaker family, which isn’t really an issue but I noticed so many little differences especially where the shortcuts were. Now I’m a big fan of the saying “if it ain’t broke” but this was not an improvement upon the design in any way. Now I got this for $0.75 as I had some points to spend and I don’t regret it as this is my work keyboard. I HIGHLY recommend swapping out the switches to something with more thock and Epomaker has some very good switches that outdo the reapers and I dislike the Graywoods as they feel mushy on the bottom out. If I had to recommend 3 Epomaker switches it would be the Flamingo, Budgerigar, or the Bluebird. All 3 are exceptionally Thocky and that seems to be the best option for sound profile when it comes to this board as it is very resonant. But if you want this to be as creamy as possible the best option is the Gateron smoothies (any will be great but I highly recommend the Sea Salts), but I could recommend any full POM switch that has a total travel distance of 3.8mm or lower. Another great switch for creamy is the A few higher end linear options include the WS Morandi, HMX cloud, Kailh Ice Cream Pro Max. And HMX makes great linear switches. And to my fellow tactile lovers out there, I already mentioned the Epomaker Budgerigar which has such a poppy thock and the tactility is chefs kiss. But if you want higher end, options include the Haimu Mulberry, or the coveted Holy pandas (MMD makes a knockoff that’s pretty decent). Also, if you can find some Epomaker Wisteria Tactiles, those are a great budget pick If you’re a clicky kind of person and don’t mind spending a bit more, I highly recommend you go with either the Gateron Melodic. And if you’re a budget king like myself I suggest the KTT purple sauce, or the Akko Creamy Cyan. I love the custom keyboard hobby if you couldn’t tell and while my views are personal preference, I’ve gifted at least 4 boards using what I’ve learned and so far my reception has been 10/10. Take it from me, you can turn ANY board into something special if you know your stuff. So I do recommend this board for the flare but I still recommend the F75 over this any day. Happy typing :) Read more

Sounds and feels good. Great price/deal.

Matthew RaishDecember 19, 2025

Just like title says - sounds and feels good. Great price/deal. I like the knob. Only downside is it seemed a bit finicky with getting out of sleep mode. Sometimes I'd have to reset the knob setting as it wouldn't vol or mute. Read more
