Was looking for something warm to throw on and not feel constricted. This was the perfect accessory. I appreciate that it is 2 separate pieces so I can wear the hat or choose not to wear it. I had the lower portion on by itself the other day and when the wind died down it just rested on my neck like a scarf. Kept me warm without it being a bulky scarf. As thin as it is I do not know how it will do with more extreme weather but it was 13 degrees out when I had it on and I felt no chill in my chest area so it must provide some degree of warmth with its material. I also didn’t notice when I ordered it that there is a pocket to add a heat pad. Not sure if the heat pad would work best in front or back but that was a nice touch and I’ll be sure to pick some up just to wear it this way for the colder weather ahead. Over the nice provided perfect coverage without constriction. Rated 4 stars because I do not know how it endures with extreme cold but a solid purchase at price listed Read more
So the gaiter and the beanie itself have a velcro flap you can use to fasten them together. The beanie is a bit lighter weight than the gaiter. The gaiter is more of a cotton/fleece combo and the beanie is more of a spandex/polyester/fleece combo. In combination, or even separately, these keep me quite warm on chilly Florida winter mornings when I'm riding my e-bike to work. Overall they feel quite well made and don't seem like they're just gonna come apart or fail any time soon. I'm a 6'1 165lb man and I'm not really sure if that matters, but this set fits me wonderfully. I usually attach the gaiter to the beanie, pull the gaiter over my head and partially covering my face, then I place the beanie where it needs to be on my head. This seems to be the easiest, most fuss-free way of getting this thing on your head without frustration. I also recommend a mirror. Either way, fantastic for keeping you warm while you ride! I wouldn't go much colder than like 40 degrees with this set. It's not made for super cold temps by any means, but 40-70 it'll keep you plenty warm. Read more
This 3-in-1 reflective balaclava has become an indispensable piece of gear for my early morning bike rides. The versatility is its greatest strength; I can wear it as a warm hat to start, pull it down into a comfortable neck gaiter as I warm up, or deploy it as a full-face ski mask when the wind chill bites. No matter the configuration, it provides exceptional cozy and warm insulation against the cold air, making my winter commutes much more tolerable. The fleece-like interior is soft against the skin and doesn’t cause any irritation during longer rides. The 360-degree reflective accents are a brilliant safety feature, making me significantly more visible to motorists in the low-light conditions of dawn and dusk. The material is breathable enough to prevent overheating while still blocking the wind effectively. For anyone who runs, bikes, or works outdoors in cold weather, this Ergodyne balaclava offers smart design, reliable performance, and crucial visibility in one compact, comfortable package. I ordered this Ergodyne “N-Ferno 6831 3-in-1 Reflective Balaclava Face Mask, Wear as Hat, Neck Gaiter or Full Face Ski Mask, 360 Reflective Accents” to wear for warmth and safety as a traffic guard. It was not ideal to connect the two pieces, I think because I have long hair, but they work fine separately as well. The lower gaiter part is thicker, warm, and comfortable. It has a thoughtful pocket for a warmer, or tissue! The hat unfortunately is very thin, like a basic poly material, that is not warm. It would not be enough to wear on its own (in cold northern states) , but I can see where it would be ideal to wear under a helmet. The reflective stripe is good, well attached, and a great safety feature. I put them both in a mesh bag and laundered normally with my other clothes, so washability is fine. Read more

Ergodyne N-Ferno 6831 3-in-1 Reflective Balaclava Face Mask, Wear as Hat, Neck Gaiter or Full Face Ski Mask, 360 Reflective Accents: $17.14 This is a two piece system with the neck gaiter and hat. Wear the two together, or either independently, giving you the "3-in-1". The fabric is very soft but made of the kind of material that if you have rough hands you'll probably snag it now and again. Until we get some low-low temps and a snow storm I can't speak to how well it performs in more severe weather, but in the mid 20s ℉ with a breeze it definitely does the job to keep you warm. The reflective strip on the hat helps to keep you protected and visible when it's dark. All in all a good value for what you get. Read more
My husband is a delivery driver so when the cold weather hits, he needs warm reflective wear. This 3 in 1 balaclava is perfect. It can be worn as a hat, a neck gaiter, or a balaclava. The reflective band across is perfect as well so you can be seen in the dark. It’s soft and breathable but very warm. It also has pockets for warmers. It has a little stretch to it so it fits well but not too tight. It is also a really good price. This would be great to give as Christmas gifts. We have braved freezi by temperatures in the Midwest this Winter and this balaclava has not disappointed. This item is definitely worth checking out. Read more
