This item should be used for a light weight laptop or tablet; not a 14" - 17" laptop. I have a heavy HP 17" custom & 15" ASUS Vivobook. Both laptops slipped off of the stand when I began to type. The bottom LIP needs to be at least 1.5" to 1.75" to keep the laptops in place. The stand is sturdy, well designed of medium weight plastic with a circular swivel, adjustable tilt, non-slip base, HOWEVER, I used a non-slip grip pad under the stand. PHONE HOLDER: I hv a Galaxy A54 with a heavy duty case purchased at AMAZ; phone fits comfortably & secure with both laptops. I returned this item and will look for metal, with a swivel base and LIP that appears to be at least 1.5". NOTE TO AMAZ: Manufacturers & Distributors need 2 make sure that all items have measurements such as the bottom lip that will keep a laptop from falling off a laptop stand. Returns are an expense. In the attached photo, the laptop frame is visible above the bottom lip of the laptop stand; this should not be the case. The laptop trim, when it meets the "lip" should not be visible. Read more

If you have a laptop with side cooling fans on the bottom, this is the perfect stand. If you have a laptop with an intake vent near the back of the laptop on the bottom - be ready to replace your laptop or internal components when they overheat and fry. I just had to replace a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen7 because of this. The stand blocks the intake vent on the bottom and doesn't allow proper airflow. Over a period of 8 months it overheated to the point that the charging board fried. Make sure you carefully consider where the intake fans are on your laptop before deciding on a stand. Read more

This computer stand is lightweight, easily adjusted, and holds my Chromebook well. As a downside, the arm that swings to the side to hold my smartphone is too narrow to hold my phone with the case protector. I'm not about to remove the case protector when I'm using USB tethering to provide an internet connection from my smartphone. I'll simply set the phone to the side. I like the swiveling feature, which is very convenient. It's a little on the lightweight side, so it rocks very slightly from side to side when I'm typing, but that's not a big deal. Being lightweight makes it easily portable. It does raise my screen up significantly so I don't have to bend my neck down when using it, giving me greater comfort.
