I travel quite a bit and stay in hotels and Air BnBs (whatever the company puts me up in). You always hear these horror stories about hidden cameras and for a solo female traveller, I get quite freaked out about it. Before my most recent trip, I tried this at home to see how it works, since I know where my cameras are. It picked up on all of them, as well as my router. I will say, I easily scanned and found all my house items, because I know where they are. When I got to the hotel, I realized that to really scan an unknown area, you have to be super thorough to catch every area. I had my travel partner put one of the cams we use for work in my room to play a little hide-and-seek to see if I could find it. I passed by it a few times without the pen registering it until I got closer to the hidden area. This isn't a deal-breaker for me, it just lets me know I need to spend a good minute checking my rooms to make sure I've found anything there is to find. I have tested a few of these devices which purportedly allow you to find a hidden camera in a room or a house for privacy reasons. In my view, at this time all of them are more of a toy than a tool, let alone a reliable one. I have a few indoor cameras inside my house, and three smart phones, as well as a few PCs and tablets. Using this spy detector to "search" for any type of a "bugging" device was hit-or-miss, in other words unreliable. In some cases the detector would go haywire near a place where there is not a single electronic device and, at the same time, would be silent as the lamb when I stick it to a webcam. The professional spy detectors existed for a long time but they are very expensive. The consumer level spy detectors are as yet very far behind. It is similar to the story of the night vision devices. The really good ones still cost an arm and a leg. The consumer line of the night vision devices, while priced rather modestly, is catching up but also far behind the professional ones. We'll have to give the manufacturers time to seriously improve the quality and reliability of their products, if they want to survive on the market. Read more

This is the first time I ordered a device like this where it can detect hidden cameras and can find gps tracker. This is very compact and thin that will fit on any bags. There is an antenna that you pull out and can scan the walls and surroundings. I just thought that this is a cool device to actually make it easier for the victim to locate hidden cameras or any tracker specially when you travel or at home where the hidden cameras are being placed on the bushes. The media could not be loaded. Picked up on every camera in our house and WiFi! For privacy reasons, I only brought one camera to the counter...and you can hear how it reacts in the video. You can turn it to beep or vibration (perfect for the hearing impaired!!!). This will be a traveling device for safety concerns. Read more
