I use this bad boy daily, and it works great. Probably the easiest coffee instrument to use, because all it requires is elbow grease to make it work. It fits perfectly in my portafilter. Now my iced coffee comes out tasting even better because it's not pouring straight through, and is forced to go through the packed grounds more thoroughly. I feel like the weight of it can take the force of me pushing down, which is immense. The handle screws off so it can be cleaned, but if you have problems keeping it on tight after you unscrew it, you can use a tiny bit of loctite(blue) to keep it in place until you want to remove it again. I bought this as a gift for my partner and was very happy with how quickly it arrived. Both items were carefully wrapped and in their own little boxes which made it easy to include in a gift bag. This set looked exactly as pictured. The tamper is nice and hefty with a very comfortable and smooth handle. I appreciate the guide line to show how deep to tamp the grounds. The rubber counter guard reminds me of the ones we used in the nicer coffee shops I work at as a teen, although we didn't have the notch in the front, which I found worked perfectly with the oddly shaped portafilters that come with cheap home espresso machines. We use this set daily, and it is a good value. The tamper seems to be chrome-plated, not sure what the underlying metal is but it has decent heft. A concern may be that eventually the plating might start to crack or flake, but for now it works well. This is a nice addition to my home coffee bar, feels great in the hand, and fits great. The rubber dock is nice and stays where you put it. It being rubber, the coffee grounds stuck to it pretty good. It is worth the price I think. Read more

Love the smaller size of the mat, keeps area cleaner and the tamper works great on my entry level machine. Espresso shot comes out smooth either time, enjoy that this is metal compare tot he plastic tamp that came with my machine! Would definitely recommend!! Read more
