I purchased this to replace an old Starbucks Barista espresso machine I had since the early '90s... Plugged it in and went through the steps outlined in the manual for first use - No joy. The pump never came on so that I could actually use it. I was looking forward to using this to make my lattes', but I ended up plugging in my 23 plus year old espresso machine again to make my latte'. I did request a replacement, so there is hope and I can finally retire the Starbucks Barista maker. I'll find out later this week and then I will update this review. As to the looks, that is what drew me to this espresso maker, along with the toggle switches... Might as well make this fun while making my drinks. UPDATE: Received my replacement espresso machine a couple days later, followed the instructions and made my latte' with no issues. Seems to work well, along with looking cool. Easy to operate and clean-up after making my drink. Price was good (Black Friday sale) and the build quality is also good. Might purchase a bottomless filter for it later. Overall, rating this at four stars - removing one for the DOA machine. Read more
