I saw all the good reviews so thought I'd give this a try. I've been suffering from severe pain in one side of my upper back (right rhomboid) for over 3 years. My doctors injected me, gave me muscle relaxants, and told me to keep doing the yoga I had already been doing daily for years. All to no avail. They chalked it up to an extremely tight and spasming muscle, exacerbated by constant and extreme stress and too much sitting. Since I can't afford regular massages, I would just suffer for weeks and then take a muscle relaxant every once in a while for slight and very temporary relief. AND THEN I FOUND MY FIX WITH THIS LITTLE MASSAGER!!! I used this for the first time for about 20 minutes just on my upper back, with the heat on. It's a good heat, not too hot but definitely not a tepid warm. It really helps to loosen up the muscles. I then turned off the heat and used it for 20 minutes on my mid and lower back. By the end, i felt a bit loosened up, but also a little sore. The next day, my back was sore, but in a really good way. Like someone had given me a deep tissue massage. As I was walking around that day, I suddenly noticed that my back didn't hurt! There was NO pain! This was the first day in over 3 years that I wasn't in pain. I was shocked. I kept using the massager for 20 minutes a day for a few days, then switched to every other day, and now every few days. I am amazed that my back doesn't hurt anymore. It gets a little tight and I use this and holy cow, relief! I strongly recommend this little guy. I had little faith that it would do much, and I am so amazed and happy and ahhhhhh... Update: 6 years later- I donโt use it quite as often as I anticipated, but itโs still going strong! See below for my original review: I worked in a top-notch spa for years, but left 3 years ago. Since I left, I have missed the ability to get a professional massage (at an employee discount!) when tension began to develop. I got this massager as a birthday present to myself, and I'll admit I was skeptical that it would do much for the knots I had developed. The price, however, and other reviews, made it worth a try. When I turned it on, I immediately felt as if I was getting a deep tissue massage. It was that "hurts so good" feeling that let me know that the adhesions were breaking up - just as my favorite LMP would do. Just as with a professional massage, I drank a lot of water afterwards, and the muscles felt "bruised" to the touch the next day. But SO much more loose, and the next day, my back felt like it had not done in a very long time. Of course, you don't need to use as much pressure as I do. And since then I have used it every evening on my neck, and now that the knots have been worked out, there is only a feeling of deep relaxation. I don't know how durable it will be with the heavy use I will give it, although it looks very well made. No cheap knockoff! And the warranty is great. But even if it didn't have one, and even if I wear it out in 6 months, I would still consider it a very valuable investment! Read more
This device is exactly as advertised and works perfectly! However; if you have fibromyalgia and touch is painful, this will be too much for you. On my "good days" I can use it for only a few minutes on 1 of the settings, but I can't handle most of them. My husband enjoys it though. I do wish that it saved the last setting you were on when it turns off so that you do not need to click through so many settings to locate the 1 you were using before it times out and shuts itself off. Absolutely love this massager. Got it 4 days ago and I have used it for about 10 minutes every day. I purchased it because I get headaches primarily due to my neck. I am so relaxed afterwards, I'm ready for bed. Easy to charge, easy to use, 3 settings for intensity, and heat can be added. Well worth the money. Next time I wake up with a stiff neck or slept wrong, this will be my go to help. Hopefully I can cut down on going to the chiropractor. Read more
