Not a true wide calf boot. I have been a member of the thick calf community my whole life and have never owned a tall pair of boots that wasn't wide calf. These barely zipped over my calves and squeezed uncomfortably. If you're short, you may experience an additional discomfort of the boot sagging/caving in around the ankles and digging into them while simultaneously rubbing them raw if you don't wear tall socks. I bought these for a Halloween costumer and only plan to wear them to shovel snow a couple times a year. I could not tolerate wearing them all day again after Halloween. Unfortunately, there was an error in shipping and I ended up with a second pair being shipped to me without charge.
