The orange color does stand out to help to be seen. It is not a really bright orange where it looks out of place for daily wear. In other words, it will work for outside walks/biking but does not make you look like a construction worker, so the color is balanced between effective and annoying. The material and construction of the hat is of moderate grade and expect it to last a few years minimum. It is not a deep winter thick material and have not tested in below freezing as of yet. It is warm for just above freezing and expect it to work well. The light has 3 brightness settings that does affect battery life. The brightest setting allows you see to do tasks at arms length, like reading, getting mail, going from/to the car. In my opinion, it is not strong enough to replace a bycicle light to see the path ahead very far. It is bright enough for personal safety and to get a bike out of a garage or bike rack. The light charger is an integrated USB male connection and basic in design. This either means cheap or efficient. Not had long enough to tell. It did charge while plugged into a power strip that had USB charging ports. Due to the size and nature of the USB charging, it may not fit into some charging ports. It is attached to the light where the light is flush with the charging port when plugged in. You will need a few inches on either side of the charging port for it to fit. Gave it 4 stars because it works as described and is of medium quality, though there are some uncertainty of the durability of the light. Time will tell. Good value overall. Read more

What a great idea! This hat is perfect for walking at night, or working in dark spaces (like our cellar when the power goes out and we have to set up the electrical box for the generator). So much better to be able to get stuff done without having to hold a flashlight! Read more
