EVS SPORTS SB04 Shoulder Brace Adjustable Compression with X-Strap Stabilizer for Injury Support

Made of 4mm neoprene like the other EVS SB series of shoulder braces. The difference between this brace and their other models is the plastic guard that also provides adjustable compression. Great for protecting and bracing a sore, separated/dislocated shoulder. Provides a lot more support than single strap designs. Somewhat restricts motion - throwing and basketball would be somewhat challenging, but if you need this brace you probably aren't able to do much without a brace anyway. The hard plastic is guard is covered in fabric and lightly padded underneath. Kind of like a football pad. I wear it for mountainbiking when I might glance my shoulder off of trees or take a fall. Otherwise, the EVS SB03 is the same shoulder brace, but with a neoprene compression strap that is a little more comfortable. I have a 44" chest and can just squeeze into the Large brace, but the XL fits a little better. I can't imagine this being comfortable for women that have a cup size larger than B or so as it pushes up/flattens one pec, and squeezes the other through a triangular shape hole. This is a high quality product with heavy duty materials and stitching and velcro. The velcro will wear with time, but you can shift the location to offset wear somewhat. Being 4mm of neoprene, it is very warm - I wear a t-shirt under it and it gets damp just standing around and sopping wet with mild exercise or effort. It doesn't get too funky, and dries quickly. recovering from torn rotator cuff... Without the shield, this brace is extremely comfortable and has an undeniable positive impact on my shoulder's stability. It slightly limits my arm's range of motion and prevents overextending, yet allows full extension if I'm actively trying to stretch. (* the tension can be easily adjusted with velcro straps) My injured shoulder is the leading shoulder when I skateboard. With the shield attached, this brace protects the shoulder with miraculous effectiveness. Full impact on pavement, at speed, is not a concern while wearing this brace. Works very well I have an A/C type 3 separation . I have had a fall not directly on the injured shoulder but close to it and didn't have any discomfort. The hard shell cup could Do with a little more padding for comfort on clavicle bone on the end . Does run small I found ordered a medium 1st and had to send back for a large , I did notice a difference between the 2 sizes the medium has stitching all around the edges where the large does not so it stretches more, sometimes too much after a while and you don't get the same compression. This is my 2nd order. It does give you a secure feeling , so I would say worth the money the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was because of the stitching. Read more

I've had trouble with my rotator cuff and bicep for over a year. Had the injection, which worked great. Due to the recent upheaval with insurance and the gov't shutdown, my authorizations are slow getting approved. Desperate for some relief, I searched the internet, found the EVS Sports SB04 Shoulder Brace. After reading the reviews and seeing the cost, I had to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! I have been wearing this brace from morning until bedtime. It has stabilized my shoulder and bicep. The adjustable straps for compression are the bomb! I've not had to use ice or take a bunch of pain relievers. I've been able to utilize my arm so my shoulder doesn't freeze again. I was unable to raise my arm to type, to shower, to do laundry, etc. Even driving was difficult. Now, I have been able to accomplish day to day tasks while wearing the brace. It's not the same as having no injury but it is definitely a bonus for me! There were no instructions in the box but it's not difficult to figure out. I am a 42D and ordered the large. I cannot get the brace over my clothing as pictured, however, I think the brace should be worn next to the skin for better compression/protection anyway. I have sensitive skin and so far no problems. I am considering ordering another one to have on hand when this one needs washed. I cannot say enough good things about the brace and how it has helped me! I've had six shoulder surgeries, and at the last one my surgeon showed me on photos taken during the procedure that the pointy end of my clavicle bone is pointy enough that when I fall on that shoulder, the bone tends to cut through the rotator cuff group of muscles. Since recovery I wear the EVS SB04 shoulder brace every day I go skiing. With it I have condidence to simply focus on skiing and not on worrying about avoiding a crash... It fits well, is confortable to wear and does not reuce the mobility of my shoulder. I have just ordered my second SB04 to replace the original, since the hook-and-loop closure across the chest simply wore out after three years. My surgeon has severl times congradtulated me on finding this brace--he di didn't know such a thing even existed. I LOVE it. He told me my next rotator cuff surgery will have to involve a "reverse shoulder replacement" and that I wouldn't like that. So, I am religious about wearing the SB04. Never leave home without it.
