My first impression pulling this out of the package was how incredibly soft the fabric feels. The skirt itself has a nice weight to it and feels plush without being heavy, almost buttery to the touch. The built in shorts underneath are lighter and feel like athletic wear, so you get comfort and stretch without adding bulk. Both layers move easily, which makes the whole thing feel comfortable whether you’re lounging, running errands, or actually being active. The construction surprised me in a good way. The skirt material feels substantial and well made, not thin or flimsy, and the light grey color has that subtle marbled look you expect from a classic heather shade. The drawstring works well for adjusting the waist, even though it’s slimmer than what you might normally see, and it keeps the waistband looking clean and minimal instead of bulky. The pockets are another highlight. They’re deep enough to hold something practical like a tennis ball or phone, and they sit flat against the skirt so they don’t add extra volume around the hips. That small detail makes a big difference in how polished the skirt looks when worn. Fit is true to size as well. I normally wear a medium, and the medium provided a comfortable fit without being tight or loose in the wrong places. Ordering your usual size should be a safe bet. I honestly ordered this expecting something casual, almost like a comfy house skirt I’d occasionally wear out for quick errands. Instead, it feels much more elevated. It easily passes as sporty but polished enough for tennis, golf, or casual social outings while still being perfect for everyday wear. The length is classy, the style is simple and timeless, and the overall look feels clean and modern. Considering the quality of the materials and how versatile it is, this feels like a great value. Definitely one of those pieces that ends up getting worn far more often than expected. Read more
Women's Drawstring Tennis Skirt by EXLURA Review: I'm not sure why the listing says that the skirt is cotton. It's a good fabric, but is more typical of tennis skirts and skorts and dresses and even I would think it could be worn in to swim. But I haven't tried that and I don't know how the fabric would take it. It says to hand wash only and line dry. It runs slightly big, but pretty much true to size. I probably got too big of a size because lately my daughter has been wearing mediums and some larges and she just got a swimsuit that fits really well that's a large, but I think she would have done a little better with the medium. She is 5 ft 6 in tall and curvy in shape. I have not really sewn on this kind of fabric before, but I think that we could bring it in and it would be good. She said it was so comfortable that she could have forgotten that she was wearing it. It's possible that wouldn't be the case if I'd gotten a medium, but we don't really know. The drawstring is really long. The skirt has good pockets. (They are not mesh like they would normally be in a swimsuit, in case you were thinking of using it that way.) It really just reminds me of things I used to wear when I played tennis. The shorts are comfortable and the skirt part skims over you and of course does not show the shorts. The effect is slimming. The stitching is good. The skirt is very nice. I'll include photos. Read more
Fits well, super soft and comfy. You have to hand wash, which sucks. I am 5' so it does fit a little long for me but nice to wear around the house or on a cruise as a swimsuit cover up. I love anything with pockets, they do not sit so far down that things fall out so thats a plus. Read more
This skirt has become a STAPLE for me! It's not only comfy, thick, high quality fabric, it keeps it's shape and doesn't wrinkle. It's great for travel bc of the no wrinking and versatility...the shorts underneath are very modest and aren't embarrassing if they're seen ..they give full coverage for sports or tennis, not see through at all! Color is very crisp dark black with a little bit of a high quality subtle sheen - it's matte fabric but it has that nice gym shorts feel. You can even dress it up to pass as a cute mini skirt or casual shopping outfit, and it just makes you look a little more put together than sweat pants. It's easy to move in. The fabric feels soft and breathable, and the length is sporty but not too short. The high waist and drawstring give it a secure fit, it was true to size and very stretchy...I think if you are between sizes you could easily size down if you want more stretch or shorter look, but it's very appropriate for casual at your normal size! What a really cute skort this is! I love it and can't wait for summer to put it to use! It is 55% cotton, and I always try to find cotton or linen clothing, at least partially. So this is a win for me to find a skort that is half cotton fibers. It comes with sewn-in bike shorts, which is good, since this skirt is rather short. If you're shorter than 5'5" and carry some excess weight, I think this skort would not highlight your thighs well, as it is shorter in length. The shorts portion is made of stretchy nylon and spandex. The skirt outer layer is soft, and like a jersey t-shirt material and it is perfect for running or any sports activity. This skort would look best on someone thin and petite, or thin and average height or taller. Just be on the thin side for this particular skirt, it is fairly short, but really cute, stretchy and functional. I'm 5'5", 110 lbs. with a 27 1/2"-28" waist and purchased the size S, which fits nicely. I would prefer another additional 1/2" in the waist, but that would probably make the bike shorts underneath too large if I went with a size M, so the size S is the best fit. I would say these are true to size, since my waist is on the fat side. I would like to see this skirt at around $14.99, and then they would be a good value rather than the $18.99 they are listed for. All in all, this cute skirt gets an A from me. Read more
