I love this stuff! I just came back from the dentist about three weeks ago and ordered this floss because I want to keep my teeth feeling, and looking, dentist clean! It was expensive for floss, but I have been using one roll for a couple of weeks, so each roll seems to last a while. I also feel like dental health is important to overall health, so I am willing to pay a bit more for a product that helps me keep my teeth in good condition. I have a lot of space between my teeth, and this floss expands to help scrub away plaque and debris more effectively than standard thin floss. The floss expands when it gets in contact with the saliva in your mouth. When you stretch it, it thins out and when you release the tension, it expands and gets fluffy. There isn't any wax on it which I like. I feel like my teeth are clean. It is easy to use...just wrap around your fingers and go! It functions the way I expect dental floss to function...only better! Definitely worth the price and I will be ordering this product on a regular basis. Read more

Definitely one of the best flosses I have ever used. Although it is small it last for a very long time. You definitely get your money's worth. There is a slight minty smell and taste. Plus because of the expanding capabilities of the floss, you really feel like your teeth is being cleaned. Read more

I have been using the GUM Expanding Dental Floss for years now. I occasionally stray to other expanding floss brands, but I always find myself coming back to the GUM brand. The floss is easy to use and never produces frays that get caught between my teeth (something that I have found happens with other brands). Other brands can also leave a sticky residue on my fingers, which I don't experience with GUM expanding floss. I believe this item is worth the price. This floss is comfortable to use, keeps my teeth clean, and high quality. Read more

I found this floss while on the hunt for a water-pik. I have always used the flat waxy floss my dentist gave me. I always struggled to floss regularly because I always struggle to get a good grip on the floss. I would end up using a 3 ft length so that I could wrap it around fingers, wrists, whatever. I saw comments on expandable floss and thought why not. After using it a few times, here is what I found: 1. Yes, it does seem to do a better job than traditional floss. This floss fits through very tight spots, then expands to fill the area between teeth at the gum line. Some reviews mention pulling huge chunks of food out using this floss, even after careful brushing. I am not sure what is up with those people, and I cant claim this pulled long buried food out of my teeth. But it did "feel" like it was going a better job, and I can tell the between spaces are clean. 2. The thing I love the most: It is SO MUCH EASIER to work with. I can just about hold it between finger and thumb with no wrapping, and still use it. It is just grippier in my hands. So now I use a much smaller piece. As others mention, it takes about 10 seconds in water for the floss to expand. I tend to cut of a piece, put it under the faucet in my hand, and pretty quickly it is ready to go. I did not find this to be an issue, as I quickly got used to doing this before brushing. So after putting brush down, floss is more than ready. The only negative I encountered was having the floss break apart in a very tight space. I contributed to this by going back and forth (a lot) in a prior spot just before the break. Once the piece was broken off and between my teeth, the feeling was not at all uncomfortable, but still one I wanted to immediately have cease. Its like a deeply instinctive reaction. Removing it was actually easy. I just grabbed a fresh strip, and flossed that gap. The broken fibers came right out. This has happened only once in about five uses, but I wanted to mention, since it never happed with my old flosses. Overall, I am sold. This is my floss from now on. Much easier to use, which means I floss more often and more thoroughly. Read more

This is my favorite floss! It’s great for all teeth. It expands when you use it, so great for my capped teeth and implants. It reaches into the those areas next to the gums. Read more

This feels like basic dental floss and barely expands, even when I floss thoroughly by pulling it around each tooth just below the gumline and sliding it back and forth. Only small sections of the floss would expand, and often it didn’t expand at all. I have both tight and loose spacing between my teeth, and the results were the same in both cases—the expansion seemed random and minimal. Also, the floss would sometimes expand at the wrong time—such as when first sliding in between my teeth—causing it to tear in the middle, becoming stringy, and getting stuck on the edges and cusps of my teeth. While it does function as dental floss, it’s overhyped and overpriced for something that performs the same basic function as much cheaper alternatives. Read more

My dentist suggested expanding dental floss to get after more “stuff” in between my teeth. The floss expands after you get it between your teeth. Flossing doesn’t feel different, we will see if the dentist sees a difference next visit. BTW, my teeth are very close together. Read more
