This is a beautiful skirt from Express that looks even better in person. The material soft and slightly stretchy, yet it holds its shape. I'm 5'5" and I might still hem this 3-5" since it is a bit long. However, the shape is super flattering and highlights the right areas. I am a fan of staple business attire pieces on a budget from Express. They offer a wide range of styles, colors, and lengths to accommodate everybody and every body. This skirt is mo exception. It fits as expected, is flattering, can be paired with several different tops from a blazer, to a sweater and still look put together, professional, and comfortable. Express usually has a lot of pretty good sales and you can find great staple pieces a very reasonable prices to build up a versatile, classy/classic business wardrobe. This runs true to size and is extremely flattering. The length is perfect for me, I'm 5'7. I didn't see if this is offered in petite (most of their items are), but if not, the design of the skirt makes it very easy to hem up if required. Read more
Excellent skirt! It's a very basic style - pencil cut, high waist, knee-length (it hits a little below the knees for me since I'm 5'4"), with front zipper and a back slit. The skirt is fully lined for added comfort and modesty, as well as maintaining the elegant look even though it's fitted. And it has POCKETS! Real pockets - see picture showing a medium size cell phone (a Galaxy S7) completely inside the pocket. This is especially helpful in the office, because it means I can move around between conference rooms without having to hold my phone and badge in my hands. This skirt looks great with a blazer or a blouse for a formal look, but it's stretchy enough that you could pair it with a T-shirt or sweater and tennis shoes and wear it for travel. This skirt is very nice. I like the weight of the fabric. I typically wear a size 4 or 6. For this, I went with the 6, but I should've gone with the 4. I would say it's true to size, but whether or not you should size up really depends on your body type. If I had larger hips, the 6 would've been perfect. Since I'm updating my professional and office part of my wardrobe this looked like a very high quality piece of clothing I could use for an everyday staple in my closet. The reinforced seams are great since everything is very well made. The design is classic and practical being fully lined with a split in the back so it won't cut into the backs of my legs when I sit or bend to reach something on a low shelf in an office. Modesty is preferred in public spaces its the perfect length. It has pockets one on each side near the waist that should be able to hold smaller items but not a cell phone as the skit is snug and form fitting. Its not loose at all. True to the size I ordered without feeling baggy. The fabric is machine washable with an extra button included just in case for an emergency fix. Care instructions are easy to read and follow. When I spill some food on it during a lunch break I trust it will wash out nicely. It has a zipper in the front and has some stretch in the skirt for more freedom of movement walking around. It does have a flap to better conceal the zipper for a nicer appearance. Its belt loops are designed for fashion so skinny belts will work best to avoid looking clunky or tacky. The cloth is soft but not where it will rip easy like more delicate fabrics like silk or satin. I love how durable it is when putting it on. There are multiple ways to secure it in the waistband so it won't bunch or travel. This is well made to last a long, long time in my everyday work clothes. Read more
I kind of knew better than to order this but I did it anyway. I'm too short for a pencil skirt. I'm 5'0" and it goes down to my mid calf but that's nothing a little tailoring can't fix. It's a beautifully made skirt. It's a decent weight and lined. The front has the zip, button, and clasp closure. Along with hip pockets. The quality is amazing. It's comfortable but there's little to no stretch. I'd say it's for a taller person. It's just a beautiful staple to have in your professional wardrobe. Wonderful quality! Read more
