Big enough to include some large capsules. The days of week are easy to read in a dim light because it’s printed in a light rather than dark color. And best of all they open smoothly without a hassle. Each pillbox is a different color that I chose so I can mentally assign that color to a specific time of day. Blue for morning, green for evening, then I just stacked them one on top of each other and leave them on the counter. After I take my morning pill, I put the morning container underneath of the evening container. If you need pills at noon and supper time, then just buy two more different colors. Works for me. First of all, the pill holder has plenty of room ... my daily pills don't even come close to filling it and I take three pills that are very big as well as several smaller ones. Then there's the opening and closing part of using these pill boxes. They close firmly and opening them is just enough harder (though not really hard) to assure you the pills won't fall out accidently. I also like the colors and how clear the indication of each day of the week is on the lids. I bought these because my old pill boxes were decades old and looking a tad grungy. Also, though I don't understand why, the Wednesday of both old boxes would not snap shut so you'd hear that reassuring snap. They would close, but I never felt confident the lid wouldn't open accidently. The markings indicating the days were also wearing off the segments of the boxes.
