After a less-than-ideal experience with a similar product from a different brand, I decided to give the eXtremeRate Gold Glossy Faceplate Shell for the PS5 controller a try, and I am pleased to say that it exceeded my expectations in terms of fit and quality. One of the standout features of this faceplate shell is its perfect fit. Unlike my previous purchase, which left much to be desired in terms of compatibility, the eXtremeRate faceplate shell fit my PS5 controller like a glove. The installation process was straightforward, and the shell added a touch of style and personalization to my controller without compromising functionality. However, there was one minor downside to my experience with this product. The package included additional rings designed to fit into the joysticks, which I personally did not find necessary. While this was a small inconvenience, it did not significantly detract from the overall positive impression I had of the faceplate shell. In conclusion, the eXtremeRate Gold Glossy Faceplate Shell for the PS5 controller delivers on its promise of a perfect fit and quality construction. Despite the unnecessary joystick rings, I am overall satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this product to anyone looking to customize their PS5 controller with a touch of elegance. This is my 1st controller mod and it went so smoothly. The trim shell is the easiest mod ever for the PS5 controller. I found it easier to pry up the ends of the original black shell with my fingernail instead of the tool it comes with, but use the tool to lift the rest of the shell off. New one fits perfectly, color is on point exactly as described, smooth glossy finish. I also modded all the buttons and triggers from the same company. I watched a very clear YouTube tutorial to do all the mods, suggest newbs do the same, controller works perfectly after reassembly, couldn't be happier! Read more

The media could not be loaded. This piece finished the look I wanted. It was so simple to install. I watched the video one time about a week ago and had no problem completing the upgrade. My controller has that drip I was looking for. Highly recommend this product. Completed both my controllers. Love it. Just waiting on my Iron Man skin. Update: Wow!!! Overall a painless purchase! It was easy enough to remove and install, price was good and it also came with the tool for the job. Notes: this cover plate adds a little but of a bump where the OEM cover is and essentially fills in that gap / dip Sony has from the white to the black. This is not a con but a welcome boost to comfort of the controller ( see photo 2 ). I was worried when I bought this that it would just be a blue/purple spray paint, and not truly irridescent. My fears were pointless, it looks amazing, and changes colors beautifully as you tilt it. Super easy to install, the one tool you need comes in the box. I didn't even need the rings it comes with (mine weren't worn out). Great that it comes with spares. A++ Read more
