I installed the eXtremeRate wood grain decorative shell on my DualSense Edge, and it completely transformed the look of my controller without interfering with performance. If you're into customizing your setup, this shell is a fantastic DIY option. ✅ Pros Color & Finish: The wood grain texture looks surprisingly high-end—not glossy or fake. It adds warmth and character without clashing with the controller’s original buttons. Durability: Snaps in securely with no flex or looseness. I’ve used it daily for two weeks, and there’s no sign of wear or chipping. Weight: Adds virtually no noticeable weight, which means the controller’s balance stays intact. Grip Feel: Despite being decorative, the shell doesn't make the controller slippery. I was worried it would affect grip, but the matte texture feels great even during longer play sessions. Comfort: No sharp edges or awkward fit—the trim aligns well with the controller’s ergonomic curves, keeping hand fatigue low. Easy Installation: Took less than 10 minutes. No tools required, and the clips didn't feel like they’d snap under pressure. ❌ Cons Not for Beginners: If you’ve never disassembled a controller, the idea of removing the original shell can be a bit intimidating. Watch a video tutorial first. Limited Reusability: Once installed, removing and swapping the trim again isn’t as clean or easy. It's best treated as a semi-permanent upgrade. 📝 Final Thoughts If you’re customizing your controller for aesthetics or personal branding, this shell hits the sweet spot. It’s functional, durable, and elevates the look without affecting gameplay. I’d love to test future texture styles if eXtremeRate expands the lineup. Read more

Fits perfectly and looks cool. Does it feel as good as the original rubber grips? No, not really. Does it feel just like the base PS5 controller you get with the console? Yes. It’s fine. I was pretty annoyed at the rubber grips peeling off but this is an easy and cheap solution. The shell will fit flush if you follow the directions for putting the new one on. The old one is a real pain to get off. You just have to keep at it and don’t try to force it. Also take the sticks off before you do this. You’ll be laying the controller down and inevitably it will be trying to turn on but it won’t if the sticks are off. Do it on a soft surface. I used the neoprene mat on our gaming table. Read more

I had to get something like this because my PS5 Edge Controller started to wear around the rubber. It was coming apart after about 1.5-2 years after use (not to mention it got easily stained really fast within a couple of months). Rather than get replacement rubber, I went with this option because not only could it not come apart again, but it also wouldn't stain and is easily cleaned. The feel took a little bit of getting used to and there isn't much grip. It also kind of takes away the thickness that the rubber padding gave, which is about the only downside. I got used to it after a couple weeks of use. It was pretty easy to replace and looks great. Read more

It's a great replacement when dualsense edge starting to bubble and peeling from the sweat from your warm hands. It's just a poor design by Sony. With this third party replacement cover, you are able to pick verity of colors and easy installation. I suggest to wear eye protection and gloves just in case you slip with the blue tool. When I installed mines, I kept the original spring, as long your top cover is dark and not transparent. You can still use you gloss black front cover because my preference with the appearance. The only downside that it has some lift but it depend on surtain plates. I'm happy with my product and I recommend this. Too bad I both a new black dualsense edge months before I saw this one. It wasn't sitting flush so after careful inspection, I cut part of the plastic that should've slid into a hole on each grip, but wasn't. The fit was flush after the cut, but the front plate is too small and there's a notable gap compared to the back plate. The paint is also really thin and already chipping. *Update* Their customer service has been phenomenal. They offered a refund and they sent a replacement free. I'm not sure if they're sending the replacement instead of the refund or both honestly, but I'm happy either way. I'm still using the pieces I originally received in the order but I'll check to see if anything is different with the replacement pieces. Unfortunately they said the gap on the front plate is normal and even the stock front plate has that gap. It's a great color and I don't notice any of these issues while gaming. Read more

I like it but unfortunately It's not a 100 percent fit on the Duelsense edge controller. It is easy to install on it, It does feel nice to hold, the color is beautiful on the outside but on the inside of it no effort was put into it to make it feel premium. The only reason why I got this was because sony version of this the grips was peeling off so I got this as a replacement.. not worth the $20 but its what i paid for in the end. I was hoping Amazon could at least give a partial refund at least but they were unwilling and would not look at the photo I provided. I would think about it before making this purchase . Read more
