I like the Velcro on the back to secure the pad, however I'm concerned what will happen in the washing machine. We will soon find out. This mat works well and covered most of my original EZ Whelp pad. I feel it was priced competitively with other options. I like the thickness of the mat but I'm not sure what the washability will be. I wish desperately that they hadn't chosen such a hideously ugly color. Not as nice as the ones that are sold by dura, which are backed with rubber non slip and a nicer, less coarse feeling thicker material. However these are cheaper and functional. Read more

We sometimes breed our miniature poodles, and the health and well-being of our puppies is our number one concern. While we aren’t a large-scale professional breeder, we have carefully studied things that we can do while they are puppies to help ensure they live long healthy lives. One of the things that we learned was that it is of utmost importance that newborn puppies have good traction and do not overextend their legs which can be caused by lack of traction. Over extension can cause damage that will have lifelong consequences. I don’t feel that I can go into detail due to the fact that reviews can be blocked for any type of med information but it’s an easy subject to research. All of that to say that I feel that traction pads are a must. I have the EZWelp Classic Tall and we love it so when I saw this traction pad from the same company I definitely wanted to try it. I’m very pleased with the pad. One big thing to realize is that it is absolutely not a pee pad and is not waterproof so don’t make the mistake of thinking that this is a fuzzy protective pad. The next thing is that, while it is soft, it isn’t super soft. It’s made so that puppies can get traction and a super soft fur would only cause them to slip and slide on it and get no traction at all. Anyway, this pad fit my whelping box perfectly. It has good traction and I even like the color. I’ll definitely be purchasing another of these so that I can rotate them out to wash. Read more

48x48 blue welping pad. Easy to use and works great for the beginning stages to help puppies while scooting around. Does not a pee pad. This is recommended to be paired with their pee pad but the one I already had worked fine. Washed and dryed fine. I used the delicate and low cycles. Read more
