These are great bulbs for a somewhat odd base size. I replaced the traditional filament bulbs on several outdoor light strings with these. When the test batch came, I was a little concerned - they are a slightly smaller diameter globe and have a strange resistor and yellow filament-style arrangement that I had to research to understand - but in use, they are great. The globe size is still a good proportion for the string sockets. The globes are tough plastic so I'm less concerned about breakage. They use substantially less amps and produce less heat. And they are bright with a beautiful warm glow. The filament-style emitter is attractive both lit and unlit. Definitely a trade up from other LED styles and in line with the clear globe filament ambiance that I previously had with traditional bulbs. Had to search quite awhile, but finally found this one with all the features I was looking for: 17mm base (not real common), 1W, warm white and dimmable. Have had 5 of them for about 7 months now and they look and perform great in both my entertainment center and curio cabinet; just bright enough for an accent light.
