My PC is formatting this drive at a block rate of around 300mbps which is pretty standard. Formatting at this rate will take a little over an hour and I will monitor the drive's temperature and test transfer rate. I'm going to go ahead and install an OS on the drive because I think it will perform better as a primary drive. I will send a follow up review later. The following days I installed my os and got my games running. I immediately noticed that so programs are running better and faster. The os boots up in less than 30 seconds. Read write rate is around 540mbps. ***Update*** its been a few weeks. This hard drive is running as my primary hard drive and is running stabily and normally so far. I notice no heat issues or slowness in fact my PC is about 60% faster than it was with the standard hard drive. I'm extremely happy with my purchase. ***One Month Update** It has been almost a month and I am using this SSD drive as my primary drive. I have since upgraded memory and processor as well and all is functioning very well. ***July Update*** I've had this HD since April so going on 3 months now. It is still working great, no issues at all. My computer boots faster than ever and runs quietly and perfectly. I have no complaints, so far everything is perfect. **AUGUST UPDATE** Still working great, no issues with the drive. I'm going to buy another one soon to use as a redundancy backup drive. **ONE YEAR UPDATE** The drive is running great without any problems whatsoever. Read more

Even though it’s a random brand, it is so reliable, anyone questioning the bad reviews, it was most likely user error that caused them to put it as one star! Read more

I bought this SSD to replace the old hard drive in my laptop, and wow — the difference is night and day. It boots up in less than 10 seconds, apps load in the blink of an eye, and even large files transfer far faster than before. What I really liked: The installation was straightforward — swapped out the drive, cloned the old one, and I was up and running in under 30 minutes. It runs cool and quiet (no spinning disks rattling anymore), which is great for my workspace. I chose a model with modern interface and good specs (helps with future-proofing). Things to watch out for: Make sure your laptop supports the interface (SATA vs NVMe) — I nearly ordered the wrong form factor. After installing, you’ll want to confirm your BIOS/UEFI settings are correct so the system recognises the SSD properly. Overall: If your laptop has been feeling sluggish and the old drive is a bottleneck, this SSD is a fantastic upgrade. Great value for what you get — smoother performance, quicker boot times, and a more responsive machine. I recommend it. Read more

512 Gb, $22.99, delivered in April 2023 Great out of the gate, but Bit the SHed (went teets up) after 18 months (in October 2024). I was using it for KVMs (kernel virtual machines) on a Linux-based host. Great performance while alive, but I was hoping to get at least 3 years out of it. Oh, well. Read more

Unless the product has been used for dozens of hours, you're not going to hear about durability here. You will hear that somebody saved money and that they plugged it in their computer and it worked. If you dig deeper, find out what their components and systems are inside the drive, you will learn not to expect too much out of this product. Mine, well it was DOA. Dead on arrival. So I couldn't confirm what was in it. I did try to contact their customer service both directly and through Amazon. They did not respond so the item is going to be returned at my earliest convenience. Apparently, this is loaded with Phison S11. I did not learn this through their own specifications, I found a reviewer who discovered it in the firmware. The Phison S11 Is famously bad. The S11 was used by some big name companies and it ruined their reputations. There are many other products in this same price point range that will give you much more reliable performance and established customer service channels. I ended up choosing a Patriot P220 drive for something like $1.50 more. I know I will have support and firmware updates if anything is found to be problematic well into the future. Something to keep in mind, a 5-year warranty, which is what they have printed on the box, doesn't mean anything when you have this generic off-brand. There's no accountability when you have a company that is invisible. They could close their Amazon store, they could change names and you'll never know where they're at. I guess it could be analogous to car warranties. A 5-year Hyundai warranty doesn't mean anything compared to a Toyota warranty. Hyundai is famous for blaming the driver for their design flaws.
