BLUF: A Far Cry that hits the high notes, Far Cry 6 struggles with the individual pieces. Horses, fishing, and parkour should be elements nailed, glued, and welded to the floor. A carnival of well written and fleshed out characters polish this gem to a shine, but some of the quality of life elements break the immersion so much that its hard to grab it again. Story: 8/10. While its lacking the mindbending hallucinations of Far Cry 3 or the visions quests of 4, FC6 keeps a good tempo going with a bitter but worth dying for story of revolution. The macguffin, tobacco that cures cancer, really throws things for a loop, but its quickly forgotten. Gameplay: A combo of fetch quests and assassinations, FC6 has a good combo of stealth and bullethell, with you having a giant bomb strapped to you that you can use to basically artillery strike enemies. Certain elements are poorly explained or glossed over, but these're infrequent. Races are fun, and a combo of jet skis and horses. I wish there was an RPG element, because you're a instant race car driver, triple crown horseman, and a trained sniper, similar to FC3. Gating by skill makes sense, because you're learning, but instead your gated by weapon quality, which is annoying and frustrating. Characters 5-9/10: Some characters, especially some animal characters, are great. You... you kinda suck. You're carnation instant Rambo, and theres no justification for the cavalcade of skills and abilities that just are at your fingertips. Theres no real feeling of growth. You're a suit to be worn, not a journey t obe taken. Overall: 8/10. Gripes about the gameplay loop aside, this hits all the good notes, and it has a good story. The kooky and zany aspects are really meh and forgettable, but a couple of the juapons (itll make sense) genuinely add a level of choice, but too be fair, you do stealth or you do be a bullet magnet.
