Holy smokes these are sharp! Love them!! If you're like me and not good about sharpening them on the regular (or ever), this block is great because of the built- in sharpening tool for each slot. The scissors are nice and sharp too, but obviously don't have the sharpening feature since they're inserted into their slot closed. The media could not be loaded. I bet I read reviews on various knife sets for hours before landed on these. When I opened them, I was surprised the steak knives weren't serrated. My first thought was "oh great...." and not in a good way. But! I cannot believe how sharp they are! They cut thru steak like butter. I do dry mine as soon as they are washed because I worry about rust spots. Love they have built in sharpeners. So far so good! Read more

We like the fact that these knives are inexpensive and they cut very well, however we are quite disappointed with the advertising of "stainless steel". These are not stainless steel and should not be advertised as such. One knife is already forming a rust spot. I work with metals and understand these knives to be aluminum. Read more

The bottom row of knives has no sharpeners! The knife blades are extremely flimsy. The knives are not adequately sharp upon arrival. Sliding the knives in and out of the sharpener is awkward and dangerous, and they don’t work well enough. The only redeeming quality of these pathetic knives is that the handle feels comfortable. After little bit of a run around to find customer service on Farberware knives, I submitted a claim on the website to replace the block. No questions asked (I did send them the photo) they said they would send me a new one in 3-5 business days. To my surprise, they sent a whole new knife set with the block and told us NOT to return the defective one. Love my new knife set. Thanks Farberware! Resolved issue: I was very excited to get my new knife set, but the steak knives don’t all fit in the knife block! One of the slots was difficult, but the knife did go in. The one on the end was hopeless. I went to the Farberware site to request support, but they don’t support cutlery. Instead they route you to another company. I will have to wait and see where this goes next… Read more

So far so good - we were looking to upgrade our current knife set but weren't quite ready to invest in a high end set. This is a perfect "in between" set! The set includes quality knives and the built in sharpeners are a convenient perk. The knives are a little lighter than the ones in our set which worried me a little at first but a lot of kitchen tools that we've recently updated are lighter and I've noticed there are benefits to this feature so this might just be a new trend kitchenware. Do not put in dishwasher I used steak knife one time and it rusted. The set is not very heavy, but the sharpener will sharpen putting in and taking out every time. I would not recommend there has to be a better selection. The rust did it for me Read more
