I have many hobby grade RC cars from 1:10 up to 1:20 but I wanted another 1:16 scale truck, so when I saw this one that has a buggy shape body and metal body panels I wanted to see how it is. I really love the build quality and design of it the plastics feels sturdy while also having give to them which is what you want on a RC car because you don't want it being too stiff because it will break faster, i also love the layout where the motor and esc and battery is at it really reminds me of the same layout of one of my other 1:16 scale ones, and keep in mind this is indeed a hobby grade RC which every part can be replaced while also being upgraded which it can easily be upgraded to a brushless setup so nothing about it is toy grade which is great to see! I also really love the buggy style body which has metal body panels that I really don't see on other hobby grade ones so it is very durable. And it drives pretty good which it has great speed and torque for having a brushed motor and it handles really good with no delay, and as you can see I took it outside when there is still snow and ice and pretty slushy on the street and I was surprised how well it did in it and it was pretty fun also, so it can get wet just like any other hobby grade RC but afterwards when I took it back in the house it was glitching out and wasn't smooth going forward and reverse, but after I blew all the water out of it and let it sit on the heater for 30mins it did not have any issues afterwards, do keep this in mind if you're going to run it in snow and slush as I did which most people won't do that but this is pretty common with all RC cars if they get too wet and is not a problem with this one. The remote control that comes with it I like the feel of it and has a great comfortable size to it and has a light button for the headlights to turn it on and off or make them blink, The headlights has a nice brightness also, battery life is also really good with the 2 7.4 volts 2000mah batteries which I was able to get over 30mins before the low battery protection came on so great performance there. I have no cons to say about this RC truck, It is pretty solid for a stock RC better than most I have before I upgraded them, and since this is hobby grade it can be upgraded and my suggestion for a first upgrade as I am going to upgrade is put oil filled shocks on it which would be a great first upgrade for it, Really solid remote controller also and the current value it is perfect what you get. I bought this expecting a brushless-style truck… but it’s not brushless. It’s a budget brushed motor, and the performance is pretty mild—more “Sunday cruise” than “hold my drink.” That said, it does a few things right. The body looks great, the colors pop, and you get fully proportional steering/throttle, which is a nice step up from toy-grade. The controller is comfortable (takes 3 AA batteries, not included). Where it loses points: the truck feels hard to upgrade because a lot of the electronics/parts aren’t standard, and it uses Phillips screws instead of common hex hardware. There’s also a lot of plastic, including plastic CVD drive shafts. The servo feels weak, and the friction shocks + thin plastic shock towers make it feel a bit floaty and not very planted. It includes two batteries with decent runtime, though I noticed some voltage sag under load. Overall: 4 stars. Better than the cheapest toy RCs and looks awesome, but it doesn’t deliver the “hobby-grade / brushless performance” vibe the listing suggests—especially for the price. Read more

We tested this RC truck out on a construction site where we're redoing our driveway, which gave it plenty of dirt and uneven ground to run through. The car is surprisingly quick and handles rough terrain well for its size. It includes multiple batteries, which is great because you can swap them and keep driving instead of stopping after one short run. My son especially enjoyed it, and it held up well bouncing around gravel and dirt. It also looks like replacement or upgrade parts are available if you want to modify it later. Like many fast RC cars, it can chew through space quickly, so you’ll want an open area to really enjoy it. Overall it's a fun and fast RC vehicle that works well for outdoor play.
