This shelving unit was easy to put together. The brown color is is really pretty, and the black rod iron is well made. It's heavy, and can hold alot of weight. That is why I bought it. This is an amazing bookshelf that isn't too difficult to assemble (the items can get heavy). The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I tested this adding a bunch of textbooks to a single shelf and it felt very sturdy; either-way, 150lbs is very hard to pull off with books. I sure some of you will use this for more than just books, but when you hold these long pieces of wood you right away feel how incredibly sturdy they are. The fact that there is another support in between the wood makes even MORE sturdy. It looks very nice in the living room as well. I just want to say I LOVE this bookshelf. I am so happy I waited a year to find the perfect book shelf, this was well worth the wait. It is amazing and I really hope this amazon "store" exists forever, or at least until I get everything I want. I was close to buying a 700 dollar book shelf, but thankfully I found this. Much more affordable and nicer. It looks beautiful and leaves plenty of room for books; I am excited to be able to have an excuse to buy more books :) Lastly, I still cannot believe how high-quality this feels. I’m really pleased with this bookshelf and think it’s very reasonably priced. The directions were very easy to follow, and all the tools came in individually sealed baggies labeled by letter so there was no confusion when putting it together. Took me and one other person about 30-40 minutes. Sturdy materials, nice wood coloring, looks just like the pictures! If you follow the directions and don’t tighten all the screws until the very end you won’t have problems with alignment… but the directions tell you this about 50 times so it’s hard to forget lol. The only not so aesthetically pleasing piece is the straps you have to use to anchor it to the wall… but not a huge biggie- better to be safe. We liked this so much that we bought a second one. These bookcases were very easy to put together (less than an hour) and they seem sturdy and are very attractive. We are using them in our newly renovated basement to hold books and "objets d'art." They hold a great deal. I highly recommend these bookcases. Read more

All said and done, I am quite happy with the product. Out of the box, I had one of the crossbars with a factory error. The bar's end connection piece was not correctly formed, and was not uniform with the other holes on the rest of the bar, nor the other bars. A bit of elbow grease, and a couple of clamps. was all I needed to twist the piece into shape though. I don't recommend doing this, and if it happens to you, contact the manufacturer. This is one sturdy shelving unit, far better than most I have built. I have no worries about putting a reasonable amount of weight on each shelf. As for the build, outside of the factory error, this was a breeze. Should you buy this product, make sure to have an extra pair of hands to help keep the early construction squared. Took me an hour and a half with a little help. We took our time and double checked all pieces. 4/5 Stars for me, would have been 5/5 without the factory error. Read more
