I’ve owned a couple of articulating monitor arms over the years but have grown annoyed with them due to the gas filled lift springs (similar to the lift shocks on automobile hoods and trunks), gradually leaking to the point where they will no longer support the weight of the installed monitor. So I figured this time around I would opt for fixed height supports while keeping with the ability to move the monitor left and right when needed. This one fits the bill and works great for my needs. One advantage I see with this mount over some of the other’s I’ve installed in the past, is the ability to remove the VESA mounting bracket with a single screw and a slotted tongue and groove style mount. This allows the installer to remove the bracket from the swing arm and mount is onto the back of a monitor with ease, rather than having to struggle with 3 people and 5 hands just to get 1 screw started in the back of a monitor. This system is perfect for of a 1 person job when help is scarce. Mounting options for the desk, they give 2 but I’ll add a couple more options to the equation. The clamp bracket is the easiest to install but dies require a desk with an overhanging edge with enough clearance for the clamp bracket to fit properly. Option 2 requires a wire grommet hole already present on the desktop. My 3rd option is to use the grommet installation process but rather than using or needing a grommet hole, drill a 3/8 inch hole (ensuring you have enough clearance for the washer and thumb bolt underneath) and install the post where you want it. As a 4th option (which is what I did) if you have a Hutch on your desk, you can similarly drill a 3/8 inch hole through the bottom panel of the hutch’s monitor bay and invert the post, hanging it from the hutch and clearing up desk space for other things. Just make sure the swing arm and bracket retains the proper orientation if you chose to flip the post. The post, brackets and swing arm seem to be sturdy and made with durable material that should last a very long time. Wire management clips are a nice addition but if you plan to rotate your screen, make sure you leave enough wire length available to accommodate that feature. $40 for an adjustable display mount that doesn’t droop or sag over time is a great price in my book. This monitor arm works great for my extra monitor at my at my soldering station. The arm is strong and well made, and it was simple to assemble. This arm comes with a clamp style mount that is very solid. The cable management solutions included aren't the best, but they are adequate for an arm in this price range. I want to call out another nice thing here: All the packaging was cardboard and paper, no plastics! It was nice to be able to toss it all into the recycling bin and not need to sort anything. This arm has a single vertical stem and horizontal arm with three pivot points. The vertical stem allows for a good range of height adjustment, but the height must be set and is not easily changed later. The arm has three pivot points allowing for a fairly good level of articulation to move the screen left and right or forward and back but not up and down. There is an angle pivot also allowing for the screen to tilt. Each pivot can be tightened with a set screw. I also liked that this mount comes with an easy-disconnect VESA plate. The plate mounts to your screen, then slides into the end of the arm. You can just leave it held by gravity, or optionally insert an included screw. This makes it much easier to remove the screen if needed without having to remove all four of the VESA screws and even if you use the single retaining screw it's easier to access (from above) than the four main screws and you can get everything mounted without needing to hold the screen up while trying to thread into it. Over all I think this is a good monitor arm for the price that is well made and should last a long time without issue. It's not the most premium option, and lacks some creature comforts and better cable management, but it does its job quite well and I'm happy with it. Read more

I picked this up to help reclaim some desk space on my office table, both for doing reviews and for working from home. Being able to move the monitor out of the way when I do not need it has made a noticeable difference. Setup was straightforward and everything went together without much trouble. Once installed, the stand feels sturdy and well built. It holds the monitor securely, and I have not had any issues with stability.
