The cutting blades are very sharp and cut through my toe nails just fine. However, I would not call the handles "long", unless you are comparing them to the short nailclippers a lot of us carry for emergencies. I did not the length of the handles before I placed the order, and measured the length to my other clippers. It seemed to me that these clippers would be about 1 inch longer than the toenail clippers I have. When the clippers arrived, the handles matched the length of my old clippers exactly. My old clippers were not advertised as having "long" handles. I am unable to reach my toenails on my left foot. I thought about how I could lengthen the handles on the new clippers, and as it turned out, the plastic supports that some shoes come with - so they hang on hooks in the store, work great to attach to the handles using duct tape. I cut the plastic hanger pieces that are used to support the shoes, off the hanger. I then attached them to the handles of the clippers, and it adds about 1 to 1.5 inches to the length. because of the design of the clipper handles, the plastic lengths fit very well onto the clippers. Now I finally can cut my long nails, and because of the sharpness of the clipper blades, it is very easy. I do not know if I would recommend these clippers without adding a comment about how to extend the handle length. Read more
