Cuts through thick nails like a hot knife through butter. The ergonomics are MUCH better than the TRIM toenail trimmer I have been using for years. These have wider opening jaws, are much sharper, and don't have a handle that will pivot unexpectedly. I've only used these once, but I am happy so far. I did apply a liberal amount of light machine/firearms oil to the pivot joint, and worked it for several minutes until it loosened up and moved freely before I actually used it. I am a retired dentist. I would say the quality is similar to Pakistani stainless hinged instruments. Not terrible, but certainly not in the class with German stainless hinged instruments.
