My farm outbuildings and barns built in the 1950's had old fashioned single incandescent mogul threaded base bulbs at either end and you could barely tell when you flicked it on.... all you got was a pale yellow dim light that seemed to decay to darkness before it reached the floor, thru the years I upgraded with the latest new thing in lighting that turned out to be one disappointment after another, florescent's had moody flickering light of odd color quality and halogens burned to hot and did not last, some like mercury vapor had to warm up for several minutes before getting bright. These high bay UFO's have all the virtues you need in lighting ...Long LIfe (50,000hr), 85% energy efficiency and come on instantly, they have a convenient hanger hook and heat dissipating fins. This high bay light is easy to set up and install. It is so bright I had to look away when I turned it on. I have a feeling that this light will illuminate my workspace such that I can see every detail. Pros: Super bright! The unit has a large heat sink to keep it cool and a mounting eye bolt to hang it up. It comes with a 5' grounded cord that is just the right length for these types of lights. I have reviewed a number of these high bay lights and this one is heavier than normal. It feels really sturdy and should last a long time. The product is also ETL listed. Cons: The eye bolt that was furnished is somewhat crudely made. It's hot dipped galvanized and that threads are not very clean. For the price, this ought to have a stainless steel eye bolt. Read more

Our garage light went out and to put that into perspective our garage can hold up to 4 full size trucks and so without any light it is pitch black and I am not about that pitch black life. Anyways we had this temporarily installed and it was more light than our garage light and now we've decided that our garage light can wait. It's a plug in type of light and works even more in my favor because the outlet is right at the entrance of the garage, just plug it in and we're in business.
