With new hay bale deliveries in a small barn comes an onset of black beetles nesting under bottom bales stacked on pallets. Bought Saturday Lime, clean out old hay regularly prior to hay deliveries, sprinkle lime generously under pallets & haven't seen a single beetle all summer! What a relief! Works as described. Yes, it seems pricey, but ... It's effective and it lasts a long time! I've been a customer for a couple of years. I sprinkle it and toss it liberally in my sand-based coop, particularly in corners and under roosts. I toss it into my chickens' favorite dirt-bath areas in the pen and around the yard (my chickens free-range).
