I'm a web designer and needed a backpack to tote my computer to and from work, and this does the job very well. I'm a male and I've gotten multiple compliments from girls saying they think this bag is "cute". Not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but it gets some looks! Although I have a 15-inch macbook, I purchased the 17-inch kanken for the extra room, and i'm glad I did. The laptop compartment is well padded and I have the confidence that my macbook won't be harmed when it's in there. The main compartment is huge. I also used this backpack for an overnight trip and I had enough room to put in 2 days worth of clothes. Overall, this is a sturdy, good looking backpack that I would recommend to anyone. A thing to note: I ordered the "Royal Blue" and the coloring of the photo is way off. Looks like they used color correction on the photo and it appears way brighter. I could not image my study abroad experience without this backpack. It is the perfect bag for a long weekend because it fits the carry-on/hand baggage restrictions of budget airlines (ex. Ryanair, EasyJet, WizzAir, Norwegian). It's incredibly comfortable to wear, even when stuffed to the brim. The secret zipped pocket on the back is perfect for keeping belongings safe from pickpocketers. I almost did not buy this bag because of the price point, but I cannot recommend this backpack enough. I had never heard of this brand before my 14 year old daughter picked it out, but I have to say I am impressed with this backpack. While it is expensive, I think this is a bag that could last her entire high school career. The high quality and craftsmanship is impressive. Good stitching, good material, and very simple design. I really like it. It's also VERY roomy. Has plenty of room for anything she could decide to put into it, even though they don't use books anymore! It does have a space for a laptop though. I like everything about this except none of my water bottles fit in the side pocket. Even my medium sized Nalgene bottle is too wide. This would be perfect if it had TWO side pockets and at least one of them was wide enough for water. Oh well, my umbrella fits perfectly and I love everything else! Read more
