Shockingly, it worked great! (Pun intended) It IS a training method and isn't for everyone. I have a VERY stubborn Great Pyrenees puppy and she hates to be crated at night. She will cause a ruckus that can be heard a street over, I am sure. We began training last night and it didn't appear to go well, at first thought. We worked this the collar for about 15 minutes, and then let her out of the crate for a while. The vibration method seemed to get more attention than the shock. With her having a double coat, we may have to switch to the longest progs that come with the unit to get better contact with her skin. With that being said, we did use it on level 16...A LOT! This breed is known for their barking and stubbornness, so I knew it would/will take some time. We did put her back in her crate again for the night, however only a few shocks and buzzes were needed. This morning when I woke, there wasn't a whimper from her cage. Usually, she will whine to get out, as soon as she hears me stirring in the house. So, we will repeat this again tonight. Again, I understand its a training method and I have a super stubborn dog. I believe that this will do the trick with persistence! Both the remote and unit are sturdy plastic and appear that they will last a long time. I don't foresee having to use this more than 6 months or so, but believe it should last years (if needed). The remote is SUPER straight forward and easy to use. Each button is clearly marked. The sound immitted for the noise button is pretty loud. The vibration button causes a super strong vibration. And well...I am not gonna shock myself. Maybe my 10 year old will volunteer. HA HA! The actual collar itself is a really sturdy material and has reflected stripes on it. I think that is a a great bonus, if your dog is an outside dog. It is a really nice, thick, and visually appealing material. I ended up cutting a portion off the length off the collar to fit my puppy. I do believe there is still plenty of room to grow for my 31 lb puppy (expected to be at least 120 lbs). Oh and the price is right! I would highly recommend! Read more

I bought this collar to reinforce commands that my dog knows, but is getting stubborn about performing. She already knows how to sit, lay down, stay, come, and walk nicely. However, she has recently started to ignore these commands that she previously followed with ease. I will say that getting the collar properly threaded was a bit of a struggle. The directions included with the collar were printed very small, with no text. I had to guess and look at another collar that I have in order to figure it out. I would suggest larger photos with step by step text instructions. I did like that it was easy to set up and use, not requiring any special programming. My dog is a Great Dane, and is about 125lbs and muscular. The collar fit easily around her neck with a few inches to spare. She responded to very low levels of vibration and the the one time that I’ve used a “shock” correction so far, I had her immediate attention. She is a sensitive dog, and was a bit upset after her first correction. From experience though, I know this will only last briefly and once she realizes that all she needs to do to avoid corrections is to obey promptly, she’ll be just fine. I would imagine that with most dogs, the vibrations and shocks are plenty strong enough and very effective, even at the lowest levels. The remote is sized small enough to fit in a pocket comfortably when not in use. I will add an update on battery life after we’ve used it for a few weeks. For now, I can report that it charged quickly, and the LED lights indicated clearly when it was ready to use. The product arrived promptly, in appropriate packaging, in good condition. I think I’ll be very happy with this purchase. Read more

I think the quality is good for the price, and most importantly everything is functional. I like that it comes with the different prong lengths, I am using the short prongs for our short hair dog. I like the silicone covers to help reduce the metal rubbing on dogs neck, and it should avoid possible rust transfer if the metal gets wet. The wide range of vibration and shock levels is nice, I tried them on myself and found them reasonable. I love that both the controller and collar are rechargeable, as I hate having to replace batteries. My only complaints with the product would be that the collar doesn't stay tight very well, and I wish the volume was adjustable for the beeper setting. I think it could be a little louder if you are in a noisy environment. Wish I got this for my dog sooner, it is really helping her focus and pay attention in noisy or busy situations around other dogs and people. So far I have only used beep and vibration, still yet to use shock because our pit is a baby and I am afraid she will get scared of the collar! Update. I find it difficult to know when a beep, vibrate or shock command actually go through to the collar when further away. It would be nice if there was feedback on the remote to know the collar received the signal. I also found on my short hair dog that the silicone covers block the shock function too much and she doesn'teven notice shock on highest setting, so I am trying without covers and ranping up the intensity as needed. Still like the product, beep and vibrate still help maintain her attention! Read more
